Robert Ellis Silberstein is a family man, as proven in recent photos where he hung out with two of his daughters and grandchildren from his marriage to legendary singer Diana Ross.

The music executive is happier whenever he’s sharing some time with his family, and he recently melted hearts with Instagram pics from different outings with his daughter Chudney Ross and her daughter Callaway, and his step-daughter Rhonda Ross and her son Raif.

In the photo with Chudney—who is pregnant with her second child—the proud grandpa has one arm around 6-year-old Callaway, who is sitting between her mom and Robert as they all offer big smiles to the camera.

Meanwhile, in the photos with Raig, they can be seen holding “10” golden balloons to celebrate Raif’s birthday, and also posing next to a big bush shaped like a dinosaur outside a sunglasses store.

FANS’ REACTIONS

Fans of the Ross family couldn’t help but gush about Silberstein’s dad duties, like one user who praised him writing:

“Idk you but I started following you cus; you’re Tracey’s father and Ms.Ross’s ex, but from following you I’ve learned that you are one heck of a human being, Thanks for letting us see a glimpse of your journey. Oh, and btw you’re a great granddad! PEACE & LOVE.”

And another added, “Great SMILE Day. Enjoy your family Every Day.”

DIANA AND ROBERT’S STORY AND KIDS

Robert Ellis was married to Diana Ross for six years, from 1971 to 1977, and they had two daughters: Tracee Ellis, known for the series “Black-Ish,” and Chudney Ross, a children’s book author.

When Robert and Diana married, she was already pregnant with her first child, Rhonda, but Silberstein registered her as his and raised her as his daughter.

It was when Rhonda was 13 that Diana finally shared the truth about her father: she’s the daughter of Motown Records co-founder Berry Gordy.

Gordy had remained close to the family, and Diana and Robert’s kids knew him as “uncle Gordy,” so it wasn’t that hard for Rhonda to develop a father-daughter relationship with the man.

To this day, Rhonda calls both Gordy and Silberstein “dad.”

A CLOSE-KNIT FAMILY

Although for most couples in the entertainment industry it is hard to remain amicable after a divorce, that wasn’t the case for Diana Ross and Robert Ellis Silberstein.

Talking about their divorce and unlikely bond, Silberstein told People in the ‘80s that it was “almost too good to believe, like brother and sister.”

He never let his split from Diana affect the relationship with his children, always making time to visit them or let them visit.

“We have a very casual approach,” he told People. “The kids will come over, or I’ll wander over to Diana’s for dinner. Our separation wasn’t a Helen Reddy-Jeff Wald situation.”

To this day, Silberstein and Diana still maintain a close relationship, and he joined the singer, Berry Gordy, and their respective kids and grandkids on stage when she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 American Music Awards.
