Henrik Olssen Lilja, the lawyer who first assisted ASAP Rocky when he was arrested in Sweden has been shot twice by an unidentified gunman.

THE SHOOTING

According to Forbes Magazine and as first reported by Swedish paper Expressen, Lilja was ambushed as he was leaving his apartment building in Stockholm early Friday morning. A man walked up to him and shot him in the head and chest. Still conscious after, Lilja reportedly contacted the police himself and was later taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

There is no word yet on Lilja’s condition but a photo TMZ obtained from the scene of the crime revealed a severe injury on the man’s head. In fact, the publication said it was “too gruesome to post.”

Witnesses who saw the shooting said a person wrestled with the prominent lawyer in a stairwell before he was shot. The shooter then sped off in a black SUV.

Police believe the incident was an "isolated case" and had no connection to Lilja’s representation of Rocky. It’s unclear if the attack was related to his work, though a woman who is a senior lawyer previously banned from contacting Lilja was arrested shortly after. According to TMZ, the woman is close to Lilja and had a domestic dispute with him.

HIS HIGH-PROFILE CASES

Lilja, whose high profile clients include Chinese fugitive Qiao Jianjun, made headlines in July when he was assigned to take on Rocky’s case after his arrest for assault charges. Rocky allegedly beat up a man who harassed him.

Lilja stepped in as the rapper’s case gained worldwide attention due to the poor living conditions in jail while he was awaiting trial. The lawyer was replaced before the trial began.

Rocky has since been released from the Swedish jail following weeks of protest and President Donald Trump’s intervention. He was found guilty in Sweden and was returned to the US shortly after where he was no longer required to serve additional jail time
