'No Ordinary Love' Singer Sade's Transgender Son Izaak Thanks Mom after Completing Transition
Sade Adu’s son Izaak Theo Adu is grateful to his mom for her encouragement and love as he completes the process of transitioning from female to male. Izaak made his feelings known to the legendary singer in a touching post.
The 23-year-old has been open about his transitioning journey since 2016, and now that he’s come to the end of the road, Izaak has many people to thank, including his mom.

Alongside a photo of himself embracing the "Smooth Operator" singer at a restaurant table, Izaak wrote:
"It’s been a long hard road but We did it!! We are coming home!!!! Thank you for staying by my side these past 6 months Mumma. Thank you for fighting with me to complete the man I am. Thank you for your encouragement when things are hard, for the love you give me. The purest heart. I love you so much. Queen of queens."
Izaak – born female as Mickaila Adu – is the only child of Sade and her Jamaican-American music producer ex Bob Morgan. In 2016, the young man announced that he was taking hormonal shots and embarking on "the first day of the rest of my life."
In July, Izaak also shared photos from the hospital bed as he recovered from phalloplasty surgery
Going forward, Izaak continued using his platform to share his transitioning journey as well as to encourage other transgender individuals who did not have the same support system he enjoyed.
"Being transgender is hard. Every day is a struggle. You are constantly fighting for the world to accept you, and sometimes you even fight yourself," he admitted in a lengthy note two years ago.
"I am lucky because I have family and friends that accept and love me just as I am," Izaak continued before encouraging those who do not have to "be strong, be patient because there will always be someone that loves and accepts you for who you are."
Last year, Izaak showed off his flat, hairy chest after undergoing another round of surgery to have his female breasts removed. In July, Izaak also shared photos from the hospital bed as he recovered from phalloplasty surgery.
Admitting that the process is "tiring" and "painful," Sade’s son took solace in the fact that the pain is only temporary.
"Big up to my Mumma, Pappa, family, and friends for all the support you give me on the daily, it’ll never be forgotten," Izaak captioned the photos.
