'The Good Doctor:' Shaun Murphy Storms out of the Operating Room during First Surgery in New Episode Trailer
The "ABC" hit medical drama, "The Good Doctor," released its third season with a bang on September 24. However, the episode five promo is not looking good for the lead character, Dr. Shaun Murphy.
"
" is a medical drama that revolves around a surgeon with autism, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). In the series, he finally gets accepted by the hospital after battling many stereotypes and bias due to his condition.
With the third season rolling in hot, Dr. Murphy finds himself in the middle of a meltdown. In the promo for the fifth episode, "First Case, Second Base," he storms out of the operating room while having a meltdown.

"FIRST CASE, SECOND BASE" PROMO
When the promo video begins, Dr. Shaun and Lea (Paige Spara) are seen celebrating the news that he just got a lead on a major operation. The character goes on to explain how he isn't nervous about it outside the OR but soon fails to practice what he preached.
The promo cuts into a scene from the OR when Dr. Murphy is seen taking off his protective glasses and mask while yelling "No!" multiple times before he storms out of the room.
The assisting doctors are shown to be left shocked and calling for the autistic doctor while the life of the patient hung in the balance. Of course, "ABC" wasn't going to spill the secrets, so the promo video came to an end without even showing who followed him or what happened next.
NOT THE ONLY THRILLING EPISODE IN THE SERIES
The "First Case, Second Base" episode did have the supporting characters worried about Dr. Shaun's ability to handle the case. The season also had another hair raising twist to one of its previous episodes regarding the selection of residents for a special surgery.
Preceding Dr. Murphy's meltdown, the "Debts" episode held another twist in its sleeve. Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) is seen choosing Claire (Antonia Thomas) as the first resident to lead her own surgery, over Drs. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee), Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann), and Shaun.
Although the surgical procedure was shown to be successful, Dr. Claire Brown's mother, Breeze (Sharon Leal), died in a horrific car accident at the end.
THE NEW SEASON PACKED WITH ADVENTURES
The latest season of the medical drama sure is packing a powerful punch when it comes to character growth. The protagonist, Dr. Shaun Murphy, has finally found a spark of love from Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole).
The new couple seems to be getting ahead in their relationship with Dr. Carly, suggesting all sorts of naughty things, and Dr. Shaun still being too uncomfortable with it all. The duo has a storm coming for them following Dr. Shaun's breakdown.
Dr. Aaron Glassman, who goes through a medical scare of terminal cancer, gets his share of relief after it is revealed that there is the hope of recovery. Of course, he was still fired from the post of the president of the hospital due to Dr. Shaun's mistake during a surgery.
