'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Cast Now, More Than Three Decades after the Movie Released
As Halloween grows closer, fans of the dark and spooky will be gearing up to watch some horror movie classics. Amongst the top of the list, is the film by horror master Wes Craven called "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
The film released in 1984 and was a huge box office hit. It even spawned multiple sequels, remakes, and even television adaptations.
The original "Nightmare" also brought the industry stellar performances from a stunning cast. Here is a look at where they are now.
Heather Langenkamp Played Nancy Thompson
Langenkamp went on to launch her own special effects and makeup studio with her husband. She also appeared in the 2012 thriller "The Butterfly Room" which was her first acting role in a decade.
Robert Englund Played Freddy Krueger
One of the most iconic roles to come out of the film was the murderous burn victim Freddy Krueger. The role is often considered to be Englund’s big break.
The film launched Englund into a horror superstar and he went on to reprise the Freddy Krueger role in the numerous spinoffs of the film. He also acted in "Urban Legends," "Hatchet" and "Strippers vs. Werewolves."
John Saxon Played Lt. Don Thompson
In "A Nightmare on Elm Street," Saxon played Lt. Don Thompson. At the time he was also playing a recurring character on "Dynasty."

Johnny Depp Played Glen Lantz

Now, Depp is one of the most recognized stars in the world with eight collaboration with director Tim Burton under his belt. In 2013, he acted in "The Lone Ranger" and famously starred in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series as Jack Sparrow.
Ronee Blakley Played Marge Thompson

Blakley retired in 1990 to focus on her family and raise her daughter. However, she continued to sing and went on to release her album "The River Nile."
Amanda Wyss Played Tina Gray
