'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Cast Now, More Than Three Decades after the Movie Released
As Halloween grows closer, fans of the dark and spooky will be gearing up to watch some horror movie classics. Amongst the top of the list, is the film by horror master Wes Craven called "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
The film released in 1984 and was a huge box office hit. It even spawned multiple sequels, remakes, and even television adaptations.
The original "Nightmare" also brought the industry stellar performances from a stunning cast. Here is a look at where they are now.
Heather Langenkamp Played Nancy Thompson

played Nancy Thompson. The film served as her debut after the then 20-year-old's first role was cut from the film "The Outsiders" the year before.
Langenkamp went on to launch her own special effects and makeup studio with her husband. She also appeared in the 2012 thriller "The Butterfly Room" which was her first acting role in a decade.
Robert Englund Played Freddy Krueger

One of the most iconic roles to come out of the film was the murderous burn victim Freddy Krueger. The role is often considered to be Englund’s big break.
The film launched Englund into a horror superstar and he went on to reprise the Freddy Krueger role in the numerous spinoffs of the film. He also acted in "Urban Legends," "Hatchet" and "Strippers vs. Werewolves."
John Saxon Played Lt. Don Thompson

In "A Nightmare on Elm Street," Saxon played Lt. Don Thompson. At the time he was also playing a recurring character on "Dynasty."
In his sixth decade acting, he went on to act in "The Mercy Man," "The Extra" and "Bring Me The Head of Henriksen."
Johnny Depp Played Glen Lantz

Johnny Depp played Nancy’s boyfriend Glen Lantz in the film. He did not make it to the end of the film but it was a great acting debut for the then 21-year-old.
Now, Depp is one of the most recognized stars in the world with eight collaboration with director Tim Burton under his belt. In 2013, he acted in "The Lone Ranger" and famously starred in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series as Jack Sparrow.
Ronee Blakley Played Marge Thompson

Ronee Blakley played Marge Thompson, Nancy’s hard-drinking mom. She was already an accomplished singer with an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 1975 Robert Altman film "Nashville" before the film.
Blakley retired in 1990 to focus on her family and raise her daughter. However, she continued to sing and went on to release her album "The River Nile."
Amanda Wyss Played Tina Gray

Wyss was high school student Tina Gray who died first in the film. Before "Nightmare," she also acted in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High."
Wyss went on to score a steady stream of work including guest starring on "CSI." In 2010, she landed a supporting role in the film "Deadly Impact."
Nick Corri Played Rod Lane

Corri played Tina’s boyfriend Rod Lane. He made his acting debut two years before the film in an episode of "Fame."
In 1997, Corrie decided to ditch his stage name and started using his birth name, Jsu Garcia. Besides acting, he also went on to run the production company Scott J-R Production
