The man had cancer, and the doctor said he had only a short time left in the world.

"Bill, you take the two mansions on 2nd street," he said. "Mary, you take the offices at the business center. Debra, the apartments downtown are yours. To my dear wife, take all the residential buildings near the park."

The nurse was truly dazzled. She told the wife that his husband must have been quite a man, amassing so much property to leave to all of them.

To which the wife replied, "What property? The man had a paper route!"
