REFLECTING ON THEIR 1000TH

The ladies of “The Real” got emotional on Monday as they marked their daytime program’s milestone. Co-host Adrienne Houghton acknowledged how far they’ve gone considering no one thought their show would make it this long.

Meanwhile, Jeannie Mai was grateful for the chance to share their life stories with their audience no matter how imperfect. But it was a tearful Loni who surprised the audience when she brought up their former co-host, Tamar and shared the moment with her. She said,

“I want to say to Tamar Braxton, you’re still our sister. This is your 1,000th episode, too.”

THE CONTROVERSIES SURROUNDING TAMAR

It’s no secret there’s been a lot of negative talk surrounding Loni’s relationship with Tamar since the singer left the show in 2016. There were allegations that Tamar was fired because of friction with her co-hosts and that Loni was a big part of it.

The animosity was further established after Tamar turned down an invitation from Loni to return to the “The Real” as a guest. On Twitter last summer, Loni said her dream guest list would include Tamar.

But the reality star reacted by claiming Loni’s invitation was just a marketing tool for their show. She told Wendy Williams that she wouldn't return to a place where people were “being catty” behind her back.

Adding more fuel to the flame, a former friend of Loni’s recently claimed it was Loni who got Tamar fired from the show. The friend, comedian Cookie Hull said Loni told producers that the “Braxton Family Values” star was becoming a liability on the show. Loni denied these claims by saying she didn’t have that kind of power to have anyone fired.

THE TRUTH ACCORDING TO LONI

Back in 2018, Loni gave her side of the story concerning the events surrounding Tamar’s exit from “The Real.” Speaking on “The Breakfast Club,” she said she and her co-hosts were surprised by the news of Tamar’s departure and they were even more surprised when the singer began unfollowing them on social media.

Loni claimed it was Tamar’s ex-husband, Vince Herbert who drew a wedge between Tamar and the rest of her co-hosts. She said Vince suggested they were jealous of Tamar, naming Loni specifically. Loni believed it was because she gave Tamar the number of another manager and that didn’t sit well with Vince who was also Tamar’s manager at the time.

It’s 2020 and it seems the drama between Loni and Tamar is far from over. Tamar has chosen to move on from “The Real” without looking back. Meanwhile, Loni continues to maintain her innocence while reaching out to Tamar who seems to have no interest in patching things up.
