The opening up came during Kara and her husband Kyle Bosworth's conversation with Good Morning America, where the former revealed that she "will sit here and regret not getting [another ultrasound] for the rest of my life, because I'll think, 'Maybe we would've known...'"
The Real Housewives of Orange County" star first shared her pregnancy news back in October 2019 through her blog, "The Pushover Project.
According to People, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum had initially planned to welcome her and Kyle's second child at a hospital, as they had for their 4-year-old daughter, Decker Kate.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and the couple decided that home birth would make more sense for their family, especially since Kara could have her doula by her side.
Things didn't turn out as they expected as the baby died after experiencing "shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord" during his birth. Back in April, People reported that Kara announced the passing of the little boy with the words:
"McCoy surprised us all with his size and strength (and overall perfection). He joined our Heavenly Father and will live forever in the hearts of his loving parents."
The 31-year-old added that she was donating her son's organs and tissues to other children and even went as far as reciting the words she wrote for the organ procurement team to read out in McCoy's honor.

In that announcement, the then-expectant mother divulged that she and her husband conceived while they were on a three-week vacation in Europe, over the summer.
A few weeks after McCoy's death, Cosmopolitan disclosed that Kara and Kyle brought home their newborn son's ashes. That action was followed by a post from Kara where she explained that the baby would have been 3-weeks-old already. Kara then went on to narrate what the first three weeks with McCoy would have been like for their family.
