Brandy Norwood of 'Moesha' Poses with Beautiful Mom Sonja in a Photo

On Sunday, "Moesha" actress paid a sweet tribute to her mother during the mother's day celebration. The singer shared a beautiful photo alongside her tribute.

As the world celebrated mother's day last Sunday, singer, Brandy also took to Instagram, where she shared a photo of her mama. The gorgeous picture saw mother and daughter standing side by side with each woman holding a bouquet in her hands.

With Sonja rocking a beautiful black dress just like her daughter, the duo flashed charming smiles as they posed for the camera.

In the caption, Brandy wished moms all over the world a happy celebration while thanking her mother for the unconditional love. She wrote:

"Happy Mother's Day to all of the resilient, courageous, and fearless women in this entire world!! Mom (@sonjanorwood )thank you for your sacred unconditional love."

The grammy award winner went on to further write about how being a mum to her daughter, Syria was one of the best gifts God had given her. Norwood also wrote: "@princesslove thank you for being a beautiful Mom to my niece and nephew."

Brandy's touching tribute garnered a lot of reaction from her fans and loved ones who quickly flooded the post's comment section to leave lovely messages and their good wishes.

Just like Brandy, Syria Smith is a talented singer, and there's no doubt that she will make waves just like her mother.

While Princess Love replied by writing: "Love you TTB," Norwood's mother also replied with an equally sweet note which read: "Bran it's been a real love being your and @rayj mom. And the icing on the cake for three beautiful grandchildren."

Sonja, who doubles as her daughter's manager, can be credited for encouraging Brandy to appear in the popular 90s sitcom "Moesha." While speaking about this, the singer said:

"She gave me a script that Ralph Farquhar and the other creators of Moesha gave to her..."And I was like, Mom, I'm not an actress."

Although Brandy had poor acting skills at the very beginning of the show's production, the then 16-year-old was able to improve her skills with the help of veteran actress Kim fields.

Despite having six successful seasons, "Moesha" was suddenly canceled after Brandy walked away from the show while listing exhaustion, a need to focus on her music career and personal life as her reasons.

Norwood went on to have a successful career in music, and in 2002, she welcomed her daughter, Syria, with her then-partner, Robert "Big Bert" Smith.

Being the daughter of a multiple award-winning singer does come with a high level of musical influence. Just like Brandy, Syria Smith is a talented singer, and there's no doubt that she will make waves just like her mother.
