John McCain's Widow Cindy Shares Emotional Post on What Would Be Their 40th Wedding Anniversary
Cindy McCain, the wife of the late former U.S senator, John McCain, took to Instagram to post a heartfelt tribute to him on what would have been their 40th wedding anniversary.
Senator John McCain is remembered for his services to America as a military officer and a senator representing Arizona, a position he held until his demise.
He also contested the 2008 presidential elections as the Republican presidential candidate, losing to Barack Obama. The former senator died on August 25, 2018, following a battle with brain cancer, at the age of 81.

John McCain enjoyed a blissful union with his wife, Cindy McCain, 65. At the time of his death, the couple was 38 years in marriage. Cindy, however, celebrated the 40th anniversary with a sweet post on her Instagram page.
The loving wife shared a throwback picture of herself and McCain holding two of their kids, and in the caption, spoke about how much she misses her husband. Cindy wrote:
"...John I hope you know how much I miss you. Every day we had together was such a gift."
Cindy added that although her heart was still broken into a million pieces by her husband's absence, she was still trying to stay strong for their children, grandchildren, and the country.
In a sweet conclusion to her caption, Cindy wrote, "The sun is shining today, the grass is green and the birds are singing here in our beloved Hidden Valley." She added that she somehow thought McCain knew that and said she loved him very much.
Cindy further said that Elyx was the only vodka her husband would drink.
Besides Cindy's loving tribute to her husband, her daughter, Meghan McCain, also posted a loving message in her father's honor on her Instagram page.
She shared a picture of herself and her father on a Sunday, that showed them seated on a wooden chair, and in the caption, Meghan wrote about how much she misses him. She wrote:
"631 days. The world went batshit insane when you left it. Miss you every day. But I miss you the most on Sunday."
The tribute Cindy paid to her late husband is among the many that she had done since his demise two years ago. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the mother of four honored her late husband's memory by sharing his best vodka.
Back in March, the 65-year-old shared a quarantine cocktail, each night, with her fans on Instagram, and on a particular Wednesday night, she paid tribute to John McCain by enjoying his favorite brand of vodka.

She shared a picture of the vodka, and in the caption, she wrote that the cocktail for the night was Absolut Elyx Dirty Martini. Cindy further said that Elyx was the only vodka her husband would drink, and she toasted to him.
Cindy currently resides in Arizona, where she has been since John McCain's death. The loving wife sold the condo where they lived, following his passing, before moving to a French-country home near her childhood neighborhood.
