JOYS OF FATHERHOOD
Michael Strahan, a former NFL player who now works on television anchoring “Good Morning America,” reveals fatherhood is one of the things he is most excited about. For Strahan, being there for his kids feels him with a sense of joy and pride that cannot be explained. Speaking on being a father, he said:
“They’re the reason I wake up and work so hard. I’m not working hard to pay for things; I work hard to be an example.”
While the dynamics of raising his three girls: Tanita, Isabella, and Sophie differ from how he raises his son: Michael Jr., Strahan is more than excited to be there for his kids, regardless of the situation, cheering them and supporting them in all they do.
LESSONS LEARNED
In an interview with People, Strahan revealed that one of the major lessons he has learned from being a father is to have fun. He expressed that as adults, it could be challenging to notice the pleasure in small things, but his kids have taught him to have “mindless fun.”
The girls have often described their dad as being a “not so strict dad.”
Another lesson he has learned is that kids are tougher than they look or come across. And being a parent has taught him to understand their strength while understanding his. According to Strahan, kids learn their core values from parents, and a parent has to be strong to help the kids when they need it.
MICHAEL STRAHAN KIDS
Strahan has four children from his previous relationships. His first child and daughter Tanita is a brilliant artist trying to make a name for herself in the fashion industry without relying on her father’s help.
The first of the brood, Michael says he is proud of the woman she is becoming and allowing her to make decisions that would make her happy.
His second child is his son Michael Jr. Michael and Tanita are Strahan’s kids from his first marriage to Wanda Hutchins.
Michael Jr., who majored in Psychology at Texas Southern, plans not to follow in his father’s footsteps of playing Football, and Strahan is excited to see him find a niche for himself.
His last two kids are twin daughters Isabella and Sophie. Isabella and Sophie are fraternal twins whom Strahan had with ex-wife Jean Muggli. The girls have often described their dad as being a “not so strict dad.”
