Brandy Norwood Celebrates Daughter's 18th Birthday with a Touching Tribute

Syria Smith recently turned 18, and her famous mother, Brandy Norwood, took to Instagram, where she shared a gorgeous picture of her daughter alongside a sweet tribute.

Brandy Norwood shares an amazing bond with her only child, Syria Smith, and the doting mother spares no words in declaring love for her baby.

, Norwood shared a gorgeous up-close photo of Smith sporting a subtle makeup look and a ponytail.

With her lips slightly parted, Smith looked away from the camera as she posed for the outdoor photo, which had the sun acting as a perfect filter.

In the caption, Norwood expressed her love for Smith while also stating that she was proud of her. Writing further, she added:

"Let your light beam baby, and know you have everything it takes to be all that you are destined to be. I know you're 18 now-but you will always and forever be my baby.♥️"

Norwood's sweet tribute garnered reactions from her fans and followers who took to the comment sections to leave some lovely messages.

In April, Smith released a single, "At Your Best," which she sang as a tribute to Aaliyah's 1994 single, "At Your Best (You Are Love)."

The touching birthday post is not new to Smith, who gets sweet notes from her mother every year. In celebration of Smith's birthday last year, Norwood took to Instagram, where she paid tribute to her daughter.

Norwood welcomed Syria on June 16, 2002, with then-partner Robert "Big Bert" Smith. In that summer, her pregnancy MTV Diary series called "Brandy: Special Delivery" was aired, and many viewers saw her daughter being welcomed into the world.

There is, therefore, no doubt that the young girl is growing up fast as many can't believe she's 18 already. With influence from both parents, it's no surprise that Syria has her eyes on a music career.
