Barbra Streisand Was Married Twice — Meet Her Husband James Brolin and Ex Elliott Gould

Barbra Streisand walked down the aisle twice and got it right the second time around, as she remains married to her husband of over two decades, James Brolin.

It didn’t take long before Barbra Streisand realized she was falling in love with Elliott Gould, her husband whom she met in the Broadway production, “I Can Get It for You Wholesale.”

However, their marriage was short-lived, and the iconic singer had to walk down the aisle a second time to wed the man whom she spent decades with, James Brolin. Meet her two husbands.

Brolin revealed that they keep separate bank accounts, which worked for them financially.

ELLIOTT GOULD

Gould already had a name in Hollywood by the time he met the “Woman in Love” artist. His career was filled with several roles in hit shows and films, including “Ocean’s Eleven,” “The Silent Partner,” and “Getting Straight.”

To this day, Gould can be seen on-screen in the Netflix movie “Dangerous Lies,” and previously in “Humor Me” and “Contagion.”

Two years after his split from Streisand in 1971, the “M*A*S*H” star married Jennifer Bogart and welcomed two children.

Although they parted ways in 1975, fate pulled them back together, and they remarried in 1979. While Gould now lives his own life from Streisand, the two are still on good terms. The former couple has an only son, Jason Gould.

JAMES BROLIN

Brolin is an accomplished actor, who starred in “Capricorn One,” Hotel,” “Westworld,” and “Life in Pieces,” among many others.

He also won several awards, including two Golden Globes and an Emmy. By the time the “Marcus Welby M.D.” star met Streisand, he had already been married to Jane Cameron Agee, with two sons.

The power couple met through a blind date and quickly fell in love despite Streisand expecting to meet a different-looking man.

Although he and the famous singer never had children, Streisand happily embraced becoming a stepmother to his kids.

When asked about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Brolin revealed that they keep separate bank accounts, which worked for them financially.

The pair also attend couple’s counseling as a means to resolve conflict needing an arbitrator. “Bring in a referee, talk it over, and I swear to you, it will dispel by the end of the session, each time!” Brolin shared.

Streisand recently celebrated her 78th birthday amid the coronavirus pandemic. She has spent much of her life in the entertainment industry and won several awards.

Among her recognitions are the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Oscar Award, Tonny Award, Emmy Award, Golden Globe, Grammy Award, and many more.
