Patrick Mahomes' Girlfriend Brittany Matthews Shares Thoughts after He Signed a Huge Contract Deal

On July 6, 2020, NFL player Patrick Mahomes signed a huge sporting deal. The following day, his girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, took to her Instagram Story to congratulate him.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Mahomes, 24, and Matthews, 24, are currently floating on cloud 9 after he signed a historical deal. The NFL player signed a $450 million contract extension with the Chiefs.

Over a ten year period, the athlete will take home around $503 million. The player’s extension includes a $140 million injury guarantee and a no-trade clause.

WINNING THE SUPER BOWL

On Sunday, Mahomes helped his team to win against the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl LIV which was held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

His team won the game with a score of 31-20. Matthews celebrated the great news about the contract deal by taking to her Instagram Story and Instagram.

She shared three photos from the signing which featured her, her boyfriend, and family members. Matthews captioned the happy post writing:

“Let me tell y’all about my best friend.”

WHERE THE COUPLE MET

The athlete’s partner noted how he’d earned the deal and professed her love for him. On her Instagram Story, she shared a selfie with Mahomes and wrote: "I'm so proud of you."

The couple has been together since their meeting in Whitehouse, Texas when they were in 10th grade. At the time, the two were attending school at the Whitehouse High School.

Their relationship endured and the pair ended up going to their prom together in 2013. Evidence from their outing can be seen on Mahomes’ personal Instagram account.

PLAYING SPORTS

After they graduated high school, the athlete attended Texas Tech University where he played football. For her part, Matthews played soccer at the University of Texas.

She ended up playing soccer professionally in Iceland. Matthews now runs her own fitness company called Brittany Lynne Fitness.

The couple doesn’t have children of their own yet, but they share two dogs: a pit bull, Steel, and a Cane Corso, Silver. The canines also have their own Instagram account.
