Marlon Wayans Turns 48 – Inside His Emotional Birthday Post
Actor and comedian, Marlon Wayans, shares a heartfelt tribute to himself and honors his late mom in a new social media post as he clocks 48.
Marlon Wayans has graced TV screens alongside his show business family and also as a solo entertainer with numerous credits to his name. The "White Chicks" actor is now 48, and in celebration of his new age, he took to Instagram to share a lengthy emotional post.

Alongside a portrait of him smiling, he penned a message detailing how far he has come, his many challenges, and his continuous faith in God despite all. He explained that although "he has lost so much," he believes the old him "is being put through the fire to come out of this better than ever."
Marlon is reportedly set to play the role of Aretha Franklin’s husband-manager Ted White in the upcoming biographical film, “Respect” alongside Jennifer Hudson.
Marlon also talked about discovering his true friends and all the life lessons God taught him before giving a special tribute to his late mother, writing:
"Kiss my mom for me. Tell her that her baby boy misses her and i feel her presence more now than ever. So thank you God."
Many of his fans took to the comment section to wish the celebrant a happy birthday. While some admitted that his message resonated with them, others offered prayers and words of encouragement for the actor.
As reported by USA Today, Marlon shares his birthday with his mother, Elvira Wayans, who died at 81 years a day before their big day. Elvira Wayans was also mum to 9 others, including entertainers Damon Wayans, MaShawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans.
The 48-year-old celebrated Elvira on what would have been her 82nd birthday with a heartwarming photo of them in an embrace, alongside a touching caption that read, "today I celebrate for the both of (us) In the midst of this hurt."
He continued by describing her as his "glue" and detailing how glad he was to make her proud before her heartbreaking demise and ended with the hashtag, "#myfirstmylastmyeverything."
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Marlon is the youngest of his siblings and together with some of them he produced and starred in the series “In Living Color,” “My Wife and Kids,” “The Wayans Bros.,” as well as the movies," Scary Movie" and “White Chicks.”
