Hoda Kotb's Mom Visits Her Family for the 1st Time in Months

Hoda Kotb could not keep the excitement out of her voice as she relished the beautiful moment she and her mom reunited following the pandemic lockdown.

Hoda Kotb is grateful for being able to see her mom again after months of social distancing. In her recent "Today," update, Kotb shared the heartwarming story with fellow star Jenna Bush Hager.

Kotb made it known that her loved ones were in anticipation of her mom's arrival. Thankfully, the matriarch arrived a few days after Kotb's birthday.

A SWEET REUNION

The co-host's time off work allowed her to reunite with her mom, Sami. Kotb, who hadn't seen her mom since February, felt relief after setting eyes on the matriarch. She told Hager:

"I have to say watching her with Haley and Hope is one of the greatest joys of my life…"

Kotb and her loved ones made sure to keep up the precautionary measures of running COVID-19 tests as well as donning safety gear. The mom-of-two mentioned that her baby girls stayed glued to the door until their beloved grandma arrived.

HODA'S QUARANTINE BIRTHDAY

For her 56th birthday, Kotb enjoyed an intimate celebration with her daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine. On Instagram, the star mom shared images from her warm birthday party. Kotb made sure to keep in touch with her family and well-wishers via virtual attendance.

Kotb's birthday fell on a weekday, resulting in a splendid celebration organized by her colleagues. While Hager led the toast, other "Today Show" crew members joined in the felicitations through Zoom. Some of Kotb's pictures showed her and her adorable daughters basking in the moment.

HODA'S FAMILY AMID QUARANTINE

While Kotb cherished family time with her daughters and longtime partner Joel Schiffman, she did a sober reflection on the people who were alone due to the social distancing. Hoda was particular about her mom.

While mentioning that the matriarch stayed alone, Kotb stated that she made it mandatory to keep in touch via FaceTime. She also lets Sami spend time with her grandbabies.

A few months before authorities eased the lockdown, Kotb's younger daughter, Hope Catherine, became a year old. The star mom went all out by setting up a "Sesame Street" themed celebration.

Kotb's mom and other family members were virtually present with big smiles and birthday wishes for the little celebrant. The happy mom had a field day showing off her tot on social media.
