Joy–Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth Welcome Their Second Baby a Year after Suffering a Miscarriage
“Counting On” reality star Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth is officially a mom of two after recently giving birth to her second child with husband, Austin Forsyth.
Despite difficulties faced by Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth last year, the reality star gave birth to the couple’s second child late last week.
With mom and baby both healthy, the couple joyously announced the birth on social media after months of updates shared with fans.
THE PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The “19 Kids and Counting” alum had her pregnancy reveal back in March, and Joy-Anna felt excited that all was going well after a few “crazy” months.
Later on, Joy-Anna dished a bit more about her pregnancy. In a YouTube video, she said that their latest bundle of joy was set to arrive in August, and it sure turned out that way.
THE BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT
The couple excitedly shared the news of their second baby’s birth on Monday, as one could almost see their “full” hearts in the accompanying picture. Alongside a sweet photo of mom and dad with their new daughter, Joy-Anna wrote:
"We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21st at 2:12 pm weighing 8lbs 5oz and is 19.5” long!"
The new mom gushed that their newborn loves to cuddle with an easy-going nature that is already shining through. Since the baby has her days and nights mixed up, Joy-Anna said she’s been able to spend precious hours with her during the evenings.
PREVIOUS PREGNANCY STRUGGLE
Joy-Anna and Austin married in 2017, and when she fell pregnant with their first child and son, Gideon, she had no problems during the pregnancy. However, last year Joy-Anna found out she was expecting, but she tragically suffered a miscarriage in June 2019.
A month after the sad loss, Joy-Anna took to social media to mourn and to pay tribute to the daughter she will always remember and shared what she and Austin named her and wrote:
“We named her Annabell Elise. Annabell means ‘God has favoured me,’ and Elise means ‘God satisfies.”

NOT THE ONLY DUGGAR TO FACE MISCARRIAGE
Jinger Duggar can also relate to Joy-Anna's experience, as she too suffered a miscarriage last fall. Like Joy-Anna, Jinger is also already a mom to a two-year-old with her husband Jeremy Vuolo, and losing a child was devastating to them.
Mere hours after Jeremy and Jinger shared the news that they were expecting, Jinger started showing concerning signs that the pregnancy was in trouble. When she went to the doctor for a sonogram the next day, it sadly confirmed that the couple was no longer expecting.
