Renowned choreographer, director, and dancer, Debbie Allen celebrated something a little closer to her heart this week, her son's birthday.

The proud mother who shares Norm Jr. with her husband Norm Nixon took to Instagram to wish him a happy birthday, posting some heartwarming photos of the pair.

The proud mother shared two stunning photos. The first was a recent snap of the mother and son duo with Norm wearing all black while Allen wore a gorgeous red jacket.

In the second photo, Allen shared a heartwarming throwback showing both herself and her son looking much younger. She captioned the sweet post:

"Happy Birthday to my son, @ThumpNixon ? ? Love you!"

Norm regularly shares sweet photos of his mother to his own Instagram, including an adorable post for Mother's Day where he also honored those who had lost their mothers.

Allen, who made a name for herself after starring in "Fame" opened up about the relationships in her life.

Earlier this year in April, his parents marked a milestone when they celebrated 36-years of being married to each other.

Allen and her former NBA star husband showed their fans that true love exists after she shared a sweet throwback showing their 2016 anniversary party.

In the video, she and her husband were wearing all white and dancing with each other as their friends and family watched. Allen captioned:

"Happy Anniversary to the love of my life, Norm. ❤️ So thankful to have you as my forever dance partner. 36 years and counting, baby! ?"

Allen and Nixon were married in 1984, and they share three children, Vivian Nichole Nixon, Norman Nixon, and DeVaughn, who is Nixon's son from a previous relationship.

The actress who made a name for herself after starring in "Fame" opened up about the relationships in her life including the one she has with her husband.

During an interview, she

over her husband, telling an adorable anecdote that resulted in them being too tired to change clothes and passing out together.

The star added that she loved parenting, calling it one of the most important things she has ever done and revealing that her son had composed most of the music for "Freeze Frame."
