Lovers of "The Good Doctor" are in for a ride as season 4 is already in the works and a new teaser released, shows what to be expected.

Shaun's budding romance with Lea was also highlighted as a sneak peek showed the lovebirds kissing beside an EMT truck. According to the publication, season 4 will open with a two-part premiere that will focus on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting the nation.
The pandemic won't be the only highlight of the new season as the viewers will get to see what would be the aftermath of Dr. Melendez's tragic death.
Speaking about the show's decision to focus on the current health crisis, the showrunner David Shore explained that they didn't plan on tackling it. However, that soon changed when they realized it was a responsibility they had to bear. Explaining the motive behind it, Shore said:
"We're not sure people want to watch what they've been living through for so long. But that felt dishonest for a medical show. And the humanity of it all; those stories deserved to be told."
According to him, the two-part premiere will not only focus on the emotional pain of families who were affected by the virus but would see Shaun reflect the frustrations medical personnel all over the world with lack of PPE and hectic schedules.
This will be mirrored in the characters' way of dressing as the doctors now have to wear photo badges on their PPE to connect with their patients because the masks cover their faces.
The pandemic won't be the only highlight of the new season as the viewers will get to see what would be the aftermath of Dr. Melendez's tragic death which happened in the season 3 finale.
The fourth season of the ABC network produced-series would premiere on November 2. Unfortunately, fans won't see the return of Nicholas Gonzalez, who plays Melendez and actress Jasika Nicole, who stars as Dr. Carly Lever.
Addressing the pandemic isn't the first time "The Good Doctor" has addressed a health crisis as in the second season the doctors combated the spread of a deadly virus. They have also endured the devastating earthquake which claimed the life of Dr. Melendez.
