American rock legend Jon Bon Jovi took to his Instagram to pay an emotional tribute to his wife of 40 years as she celebrates her birthday.

Love has been described as the most incredible feeling in the world, and Jon Bon Jovi was lucky enough to find his own love experience with his high school sweetheart, Dorothea.

The Oscar-nominated singer took to his social media page to post a picture of himself and his wife Dorothea while wishing her a happy birthday.

Although they have been married for 31 years, the couple has known each other for 40 years after what seems to have been a love at first sight story.

The "Livin’ On A Prayer" singer took to his Instagram to wish his wife a happy birthday. He posted a black and white photo that showed the couple in their younger days having a little moment as they sat beside each other. He captioned the post:

"Happy Birthday to my number one, since day one."

Fans of the singer wasted no time sending their love to the rockstar's wife following the post. One fan commented that Dorothea was an incredible support system in Jon's life. The post has gathered over 141,720 likes and over 4,000 comments.

The rock star recently said in an interview with PEOPLE that mutual respect’ had been the golden secret of his relationship with his wife. According to Jon, growing together and their love for each other has been their anchor.

On her part, Dorothea said she always had a knack for spotting a good potential, referring to the fact that her instinct was right about Jon. The duo, both 58, are one model celebrity couple in the entertainment industry.

Jon, whose new Bon Jovi album, 2020, is expected to be out on Friday, October 2nd, acknowledged that he and his wife, Dorothea, are intentional about having a good relationship, having seen how being a celebrity can affect a marriage.

Asides his unique voice and talent, most people do not know that Jon has been around for a long time. According to reports, Jon was the lead singer of the popular 80's band, Bon Jovi, and is also a blood relative to the famous Frank Sinatra.

The singer's son was also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier on in an interview, Jon disclosed that his 18-year-old son, Jacob Bongiovi had recovered from the virus.

The 58-year-old star whose album is around the corner reportedly said that his new album covered some social issues of today, including the COVID-19 crisis.
