Glimpse inside Ciara and Vanessa Bryant's Powerful Friendship through the Years

Ciara and Vanessa Bryant have been friends through thick and thin. Over the years they’ve shown us what it truly means to be best friends with someone as seen on their social media accounts.

Vanessa Bryant and Ciara have some obvious things in common with each other including that they’re both married. Vanessa is sadly the widow of legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant.

Her daughter, Gianna Bryant, 13, also died with her husband in January 2020, in a fatal helicopter crash. Kobe left behind daughters Bianka Bella, Natalia Diamante, and Capri Bryant.

For her part, Ciara is married to football player Russell Wilson. She shares Future Zahir Wilburn with her ex-fiancé, fellow musician and rapper Future, and she had two more children with her husband by 2020.

With the quarterback, she has a daughter, Sienna Princess, who was born on April 28, 2017, and a son, Win Harrison. The R&B musician welcomed her third child on July 23, 2020.

SLUMBER PARTY!

On November 21, 2020, the singer showed how close she was to Vanessa when she shared an image that featured her children. In the picture, Ciara smiled broadly while sitting with her friend.

Included in the photo were the widow’s two youngest children, Bianka and Capri. The group was having a slumber party as seen in the caption of the post and judging by the girls' pajamas.

NURSING TOGETHER

Ciara and Vanessa have been friends for several years. On September 30, 2020, the pair showed how close they were when the singer posted an Instagram image of them sitting in a plane while breastfeeding their children.

The musician fed Win while Vanessa cradled Capri, as both babies were covered in individual blankets. In the photo, both stars were all smiles as they posed for the picture.

BONDING WITH WIN

Chances are Vanessa is one of the first people who got to meet Ciara’s youngest child when he was born. In September 2020, Kobe’s wife shared an Instagram photo of herself bonding with her friend’s newborn baby.

Ciara and Russell played their aunt and uncle roles to the Bryant children when they gifted one of them with a surprise.

Vanessa was photographed while she cradled little Win in her arms. At the time, the little boy was around two months old as snuggled up to his aunt who gave him a loving kiss on the head.

A GIFT FROM THE WILSONS

In August 2020, Ciara and Russell played their aunt and uncle roles to the Bryant children when they gifted one of them with a surprise. Little Bianka was given a pink Range Rover by the Wilsons.

Her mother took to her private Instagram account to thank her friends for the gift. Access even went as far as sharing the video uploaded by Vanessa showing the little girl trying out her new gift.

MOURNING KOBE’S DEATH

In February 2020, a memorial was held for Vanessa’s late husband and daughter. To pay tribute to them, a celebration of life memorial was hosted in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.

Kobe’s widow got to speak about her husband and daughter at the event. Ciara, once again, showed her friend support by tweeting about her pride in Vanessa writing:

"You are the true definition of a Woman. I admire your strength, grace, and resilience. Truly so proud of you.”
