Alicia Silverstone Once Let Her Son Grow Hair down to His Waist — inside the Star's Parenting
Talented actress Alicia Silverstone has the cutest relationship with her son Bear Blu Jarecki. The doting mom is all about her son and once allowed him to grow his hair down to his back.
Alicia Silverstone first gained widespread fame with her film debut in "The Crush," which earned her the 1994 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
Subsequently, Silverstone has enjoyed a successful acting career and gained further acclaim as a vegan advocate, a cookbook author, and more recently, she has plunged herself into her mom role.

Since becoming a mom, the "Batman & Robin" star has developed an inseparable bond with her son, and they regularly sizzle Silverstone's fans with sweet mother-son moments.
FIRST-TIME MOM
Alicia Silverstone and her then-husband Christopher Jarecki welcomed their son Bear Blu Jarecki on May 5, 2011. Silverstone broke the news on her blog a few days later and thanked her fans for their support throughout her pregnancy.

Shortly after her son's birth, the 44-year-old actress raised eyebrows when she named her son Bear Blu. Silverstone later explained that her son's unique name was actually suggested by Jarecki's mother.
Some of Silverstone's parenting methods have come under intense public scrutiny in the past.
Silverstone has often courted controversy over how she has gone about raising her son. In 2012, the mother of one sparked public outrage when she shared a video of herself feeding her then-10-month-old son like a baby bird.
Despite the criticisms she has received over some of her parenting methods, Silverstone has continued to document her son's life, from his vegan journey to his hair adventure.
ALICIA SILVERSTONE'S MOTHERHOOD EXPERIENCE
Alicia Silverstone and her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki went vegan together over two decades ago. Unsurprisingly, Alicia Silverstone's son Bear Blu, 9, has already taken to the vegan diet.
Even though many believe that a vegan diet is not advisable for kids, Silverstone has vehemently defended her family's lifestyle. During a 2014 interview with PEOPLE, she said:
"[Bear] loves the food I give him. He's not being deprived of anything. For him, having amazing fruit is like candy!"
While defending her family's lifestyle, Silverstone pointed to her son's health and claimed he had only been sick twice in his life.
Silverstone also sensationally claimed that her son has never required medical intervention since his birth and had never taken any antibiotics for any infection before.
While some might believe that the actress has forced her vegan lifestyle on her son, she has denied those claims and insists that she is raising her son to live an independent life.
And Silverstone supported her son with his decision to grow his hair down to his waist, despite being poked fun at by his peers in school.
Bear Blu wore the long locks most of his life, but he recently got a haircut, and Silverstone has been raving about his changed looks and how cutting her son's hair was "a big growing-up moment" for her as a mother.
ENDING A 20-YEAR RELATIONSHIP
Christopher Jarecki and Alicia Silverstone met outside a movie theater in 1997. The duo dated for eight years before getting married in a beachfront ceremony at Lake Tahoe on June 11, 2005.
Despite being together for over two decades, the couple announced that they had separated in February 2018. Silverstone then filed for divorce from Jarecki in May that same year.
The couple finalized their divorce in November 2018, and they agreed to joint physical custody of their son, Bear Blu. Silverstone was also ordered to pay $12,000 per month in spousal support to her ex-husband until January 31, 2024.
Alicia Silverstone now raises her son as a single mom, and it has only strengthened her devotion to him. However, she is well aware that one day her little boy would outgrow the nest. She said in an interview with Us Weekly:
"The whole idea is that you love and attach to them so much so that they're free to be and leave. It's heartbreaking, but you have to."
Some of Silverstone's parenting methods have come under intense public scrutiny in the past. However, one thing that cannot be questioned is her unwavering devotion to her little prince.
