Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma Pen Sweet Tributes to Each Other on Their 1st Wedding Anniversary
This week, actress Hilary Duff and her husband Matthew Koma celebrated their very first wedding anniversary. The couple marked the day by sharing sweet tributes to each other on social media.
In 2017, Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma were first romantically linked to each other. By March that same year, the couple went their separate ways but was back together by the fall.
In October 2018, they had their first child together, daughter Banks Violet Bair. Their second reunion also led to them getting married on December 21, 2019, in a beautiful ceremony.

Duff is also a parent to son Luca, 8, whom she shares with her ex-husband Mike Comrie. On Monday, December 21, 2020, the actress and her musician husband celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
They took to their individual Instagram accounts to pen touching tributes to each other to honor the day. The “Lizzie McGuire” actress included a photo of her and Koma eating during the night of their nuptials.
In the caption of the post, she confessed that the moment captured in the image was one that she loved a lot. She revealed that she and the singer were too nervous to eat on the day.
Instead, immediately after their wedding, they got a plate of appetizers which they shared together. They quickly ate before taking more pictures, and she noted how that moment summed up their lives.
Duff gushed about how they snacked through their lives, dreamt about dinner at 7 in the morning, and wrangled their children. She also noted how they also had to dodge the novel coronavirus disease, adding:
“Always with you babe. For you.”
The actress lovingly told her husband that she would choose the life they had and him repeatedly. She thanked him for being a good man and noted how he’s the best one she’d ever met.
Turning to her humor, she thanked the musician for drinking two cups of water that day. She noted how these were baby steps and praised him sharing that old dogs could learn new tricks.
For his part, Koma also took to Instagram to pay tribute to the special day. He posted a gorgeous black-and-white photo of him and his wife as they walked off together after exchanging their vows.
The musician confessed that he couldn’t have imagined this year without his wife. He noted how he’d needed her as she was the one who used Clorox to disinfect their groceries and to spend the pandemic together.
Koma acknowledged how the first year was always said to be the hardest and noted theirs was hard because of other circumstances. He admitted how in awe he was of Duff’s ability to do it all.
For Thanksgiving this year, Hilary Duff shared a selfie of her family on Instagram.
The musician described her as a mother, an individual, a wife, a spirit, and a tie-dye influencer. The star shared his awe at what he might have done to deserve someone like his wife.
He thanked Duff for indulging his obsession with dead songwriters for endless hours, pretending it interested her. Referring to his wife’s post, he also thanked her for making him drink water and eat breakfast, adding:
“You make me so much better. You make our family what it is.”
The star confessed that she was the only person who could make him cry through the Prozac before declaring his love to her. For Thanksgiving this year, Duff shared a selfie of her family out-and-about on Instagram.
In the post, the actress, who is currently pregnant, was seen posing with her husband and two children. The group was huddled together on the walkway of Domino Park in Brooklyn at night.
