Last year, Duchess Meghan and her husband Prince Harry released a GIF-style Christmas card greeting in celebration of the holidays. This also happened to be their toddler son, Archie’s first card debut.

Despite having stepped down from their senior royal roles in January 2020, the couple took part in the royal tradition this year. Just before Christmas Day, the couple released their second card in two years.

Instead of using an actual photo, Harry and Meghan got a drawing made of their family. The drawing was based on a photograph that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, once took.

In the picture, the trio posed together in front of a child-size barn in a yard. Baby Archie was pictured while sitting on his father's lap while the duchess sat cross-legged right in front of them.

The Christmas card also included the family’s two dogs. The couple extended their holiday well wishes to their fans, followers, friends, family, and the world with a festive message that read:

“Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Instead of sharing the portrait themselves, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave the honor to Mayhew. The organization works on rescuing cats, dogs, and other animals and also assists them in finding safe homes.

Meghan has been working with Mayhew since last year. In the caption of the post, which was shared on Instagram and Twitter, the organization revealed that it had received the card from Meghan.

They noted how the royal couple had made a personal donation to them to help them continue their work. The organization concluded its message by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from them and their animals.

Last year’s Christmas card from the Sussexes showed little Archie crawling at seven-months-old and staring into the camera. The black-and-white image also included the boy’s parents smiling behind him.

Harry’s brother, Prince William and his wife Duchess Kate also recently released their Christmas portrait. The photo included the parents alongside their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
