P Diddy Posts Iconic Throwback Photo with Notorious BIG & Aaliyah — Here's How Fans Reacted
Fans were left speechless after record producer P. Diddy posted a throwback picture of himself together with the legendary icons in R&B and rap music. Take a look at their reactions.
Many fans felt nostalgic after rapper-turned-record producer P. Diddy took them down memory lane on Instagram, showing the late Notorious B.I.G. and Aaliyah beside him.
Notorious B.I.G. was considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, while Aaliyah was the iconic "Princess of R&B." Sadly, both died tragically in 1997 and 2001, respectively.
A LEGENDARY PICTURE
In the picture, a young Diddy stood on the left beside Aaliyah in a white printed oversized shirt opening her hands. Notorious B.I.G. is on the right side wearing a colorful collared shirt.
The snap seemed important to Diddy, who was known to be Aaliyah's ex-boyfriend. The veteran rapper felt sentimental and captioned the post:
"I love this picture!!!"
A fan commented that Diddy's Instagram post was "astronomical." | Photo: .instagram.com/diddy
Seeing the big stars in one picture, many fans feel that if Notorious B.I.G. and Aaliyah were alive today, they could have been top driving forces in the industry.
One fan wrote that the volume in Diddy's picture with the legendary musicians seemed "astronomical" for her. Another one chimed in and commented:
"Man this is beyond legendary."
FOREVER THE R&B ICON
Though they are gone, Notorious B.I.G. and Aaliyah's legacy in the music industry has remained timeless through the years. Their songs were influential to many new singers today.
On August 25, 2001, the industry lost Aaliyah, whom the community described as one of the brightest stars at that time. She and eight others died after their small plane bound to the Bahamas crashed.
Diddy was heartbroken by Aaliyah's untimely death. In 2010, he shared an unknown fact on Twitter that they both recorded a track that was never released to the public.
HIS FAVORITE MEMORY
Diddy also missed Notorious B.I.G., whose real name is Christopher Wallace. The late rapper, also known to other rappers as "Biggie Smalls," died in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997.
The "Last Night" singer recalled an unforgettable memory of Notorious B.I.G. during a Soul Train Awards show. The iconic rapper wore the wrong size of shoes while onstage.

Police earlier noted that Notorious B.I.G.'s death was linked to a rap war between East Coast and West Coast hip-hop artists. His death came after Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas in 1996.
In the honor of his father's death, T'yanna Wallace opened a clothing store in Brooklyn in 2019. She branded her label Notoriouss in reference to the rapper's name.
