Actress Kate Hudson has one wish for 2021, and it is to reconnect with her siblings from her biological dad, Bill Hudson, and her mother’s longtime partner, Kurt Russell.
Kate shared her hope for a reunion with her long-lost half-siblings during Friday's episode of her weekly podcast with her older brother Oliver Hudson titled, “Sibling Revelry.”

While discussing their individual New Year's resolutions, the “Almost Famous” star revealed that she had been thinking about the other side of her family. In her words:
“We’ve got four siblings we don’t spend any time with. I was thinking about how everybody’s getting older. I just had this moment of, it would be nice to connect...”
The actress noted that she and Oliver talked about sibling relationships in the light of excellent or distraught rapports. She explained that they act like they have the best family in the world during their conversations. However, they had been neglecting their other siblings all along.
Kate and Oliver’s relationship with their biological father isn’t the best and has often played out in the public eye.
This year, the 41-year-old is hoping that changes as she spoke about reaching out to her siblings from Bill and Russell, connecting with them as best as she can.
Kate and Oliver were welcomed during their mom, Goldie Hawn’s marriage to The Hudson Brothers vocalist. The duo was married for six years until their divorce in 1982.
Bill went on to have three more children from two women. He welcomed Emily and Zach with ex-wife Cindy Williams and has a daughter Lalania with his former girlfriend, Caroline Graham.
Russell, who has been dating Hawn since 1983, welcomed son Wyatt Russell in 1986 with the “First Wives Club” star. Kate and Oliver’s relationship with their biological father isn’t the best and has often played out in the public eye.
In interviews, the Golden Globe winner has often spoken about how he abandoned them after his marriage to their mom ended. In 2015, Oliver shared a throwback photo of them as kids with Bill, captioning it, “Happy Abandonment Day.”
However, Bill has denied all accusations levied against him, blaming Hawn for alienating him from Kate and Oliver after their union ended. He also declared that he no longer recognizes his eldest kids as his own, urging them to drop his last name.
Amid the controversy, Kate has openly declared Russell as her father, praising him for his constant support and presence. Nevertheless, she has been outspoken about forgiving her estranged father and accepting his shortcomings.
