According to the source, the royal matriarch admitted that he had been a pillar of her strength. The Buckingham Palace confirmed on February 17 that the Duke of Edinburgh was being treated in hospital as a "precautionary measure."

Within just one week of his stay, the palace announced that he would remain in the hospital for the foreseeable future. "The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII’s Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection,” said a palace spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, Prince Philip is comfortable and is responding to treatment. However, he is not expected to be discharged for several days.

According to BBC, the 99-year-old traveled by car to the hospital, where he was admitted following his doctor's advice. He had been feeling unwell for a couple of days.

However, his sickness is not coronavirus-related, according to a source. Prince Philip, whose 100th birthday is on June 10, was reportedly “in good spirits” in hospital.

His oldest grandson Prince William was asked about his condition while on an outing to a vaccine center. A royal photographer Arthur Edwards asked about his grandfather’s health.

The Duke of Cambridge said, “He’s okay. They’re keeping an eye on him,” he said. Another disclosed that Prince Philip’s doctor is acting with an abundance of caution.

He also disclosed that his dad is feeling a tad bit frustrated being in the hospital. Edward added that they have received warm, well wishes from people and appreciate it, and so does the Duke.
