Woman 6 Months Pregnant Shot to Death in a Drive-by Shooting in Front of Her Son, 2, on Easter
The Navarro family experienced a tragedy this Easter Sunday as they lost 22-year-old Briana Navarro, a mother to a little boy and expecting her second child.
Houston native Briana Navarro, who was six months pregnant with her third child, was fatally shot in the back during a suspected drive-by shooting on Easter Sunday.
The Houston Police Department reported that a dark coupe fired gunshots at the car that contained Navarro, her boyfriend, and her son. One bullet hit the car's trunk, while the other was the fatal shot that killed the 22-year-old.

PARAMEDICS ON SCENE
When the multiple gunshots were fired, paramedics were close enough to rush to the scene and help the injured victim. Unfortunately, when the emergency staff pulled the 22-year-old out of the vehicle, she was dead.
Victoria Valdez, the victim's mother's cousin, launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial support for the family that the young woman left behind. Valdez wrote in the description:
"She was shot and killed early this afternoon in front of her 2 yr old son!... She was only 22 yrs old a mother of 2 and 6 months pregnant with a baby boy."
SLIGHT ALTERCATION
Navarro's boyfriend and son were not harmed in the shooting. Her boyfriend is cooperating with the investigation surrounding her death and has revealed that he was involved in a slight altercation in a store before the shooting.
33-year-old Sandifer did not survive to be able to hold her sixth baby in her arms. Massive vigils were held in honor of Sandifer.
The boyfriend reported that he got in the car with Navarro after exchanging words in the convenience store, and the three of them drove off. After driving away, the gunman opened fire on the vehicle.
TRAGIC DEATH
The death of the 22-year-old is an escalated tragedy because her unborn baby's life was also taken in the shooting. Navarro was expecting her third baby, who would join her 6-year-old and two-year-old sons.
The victim's grandmother shared about the expectant mother's excitement to welcome another child into her family and how kind Navarro was. She revealed:
"She was totally excited. She was buying all kinds of stuff for him she was going to have another little boy."
ANOTHER PREGNANT VICTIM
Annie Sandifer is another pregnant mother that was shot and killed in a recent shooting incident. Sandifer was the mother of five children and was expecting her sixth child when she was shot from a sunroof of a car in transit.
The mother was a Milwaukee resident. She was in a party bus when the vehicle with the gunman passed by and fired five to six bullets on the bus, which resulted in Sandifer's deaths.
The mother was rushed to Ascension St. Joseph hospital, where her baby was born at 26 weeks. The doctors performed a c-section that allowed them to safely deliver the baby, who is now stable.
33-year-old Sandifer did not survive to be able to hold her sixth baby in her arms. Massive vigils were held in honor of Sandifer, with hundreds of people arriving to pay their respects and remember her.
