“The Blacklist” star Ryan Eggold is a heartthrob who has surely melted many fans’ hearts. We delve into his love life and his next career move as a director.
Ryan Eggold is not only a handsome “New Amsterdam” star but also a sought-after bachelor. According to an opinion piece by Bustle, Eggold appears to be an intelligent, funny, and kind man.
On a personal level, the 36-year-old also cannot stand blood despite playing the role of Dr. Max Goodwin in the medical drama series. He stars as the new medical director at America’s oldest public hospital.
FACTS ABOUT EGGOLD
“I would be just an absolute terrible doctor. I’m not good with…the fragility of the human body is just terrifying to me, you know, that it could all be (snaps) in a second,” Eggold told E! News.
Apart from anything that has to do with blood, the California native has good taste. He likes cheese and enjoys theatre, Tyler Labine stated back in 2018. “We went out for cheese after we went and saw a play.”
He also plays instruments as he is a pianist. Eggold’s co-star Jocko Sims shared while filming one of the pilot's opening scenes; there was a piano in the corner.
“The guy jumps on the piano and starts playing away. It was fantastic,” Sims recalled. Eggold also loves to travel and shared how fascinating it is to travel to foreign countries:
"Every chance I get, I fly off to another country. I love meeting new folks in different cultures and different places," he said.
When coming to his love life, he told Daily Telegraph in November 2014: "I am an old man. I go for the quiet," and admitted that he does not handle attention too well while adding:
“I’d say I stumble over pick-up lines poorly. I’m not good at any of that. I’ve been a 90-year-old man since I was 12 years old. I’m not good with it, but I try to stay at least somewhat involved.”
As for his romantic relationships, there were rumors of him being linked to “The Blacklist” co-star Megan Boone for some time. However, the speculation was put to rest when Boone gave birth to her and fiancé Dan Estabrook’s child on April 20, 2016, per Daily Mail.
Eggold was also said to be dating “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene briefly in 2008. In October that year, an insider told Just Jared that their relationship was new, and they were definitely together.
Neither Greene nor Eggold confirmed the rumors, but he did drop a hint to Life & Style Magazine around that time and shared he was indeed dating someone who was an actress.
Following all of those rumors, the last update Eggold gave on his relationship status was in June 2018. He appeared on “The Today Show” and was asked by host Hoda Kotb whether or not if he was engaged, and he said no.

Eggold went on the show to promote the new season of "The Blacklist" via Heavy. A year later, Collider interviewed him about the Academy Award-nominated film he starred in "BlacKkKlansman,” directed by Spike Lee.

When asked what he learned from Lee, the "90210" star shared that he learned not to overthink things onset but plainly get to do them without thinking too much. He referenced the takes onset noting that it is what makes Lee's movies raw and alive that translates.
Eggold also spoke about the success of “New Amsterdam” and finding ways to improve the show, including his character as Dr. Goodwin.

Although his experience was not severe and instead "felt like flu," Eggold cautioned people not to take it lightly as many people have died from it and others have struggled with it severely. Overall, his personal experience helped him relate to the show.
Back to business, Eggold has his eyes set on becoming a director and has already expanded his acting career to working behind the scenes.
