Ryan O’Neal’s Son Griffin Once Exposed His Sins — Son’s Injured Heavily Pregnant Partner Was Involved
Ryan O'Neal's son Griffin revealed inside information about what happened in their family, exposing his father's sin during a tell-all interview with Larry King.
The O'Neal family are celebrities known for the dramatic events in their lives, as well as the controversy that followed Ryan O'Neal wherever he went.
There were many rumors, but none of it was really confirmed until Griffin O'Neal, the son of Ryan and Joanna Moore, appeared on "Larry King Live" on Monday evening.

What followed was a raw revelation of some of the most shocking happenings in the family, including one that affected not just Griffin himself but also his partner, who was 8½ months pregnant.
According to him, she got her four cheekbones crushed by Ryan and received up to nine stitches above her head. Some of Griffin's claims are illustrated below.
RYAN FAILED AS A ROMANTIC PARTNER
Ryan had Griffin with Joanna Moore, but his relationship with her was annulled when their son was thirteen. Ryan moved on with Farrah Fawcett, whom Griffin described as "a great friend who stayed nice all the way to the end."

But, according to him, he could not trust her because of that niceness as he had been raised in a "not–so–kind world." When asked to describe his father's relationship with Fawcett, Griffin said they also had great times even though it was "bombastic" and "hard" at times.
However, by the time Redmond O'Neal, Griffin's half-brother, clocked five, Ryan and Fawcett lived in separate rooms in a very large house. Griffin revealed that his father saw other women while he was with Fawcett.
According to him, she was also aware of it because, at some point, she walked in on him while he was with one of his other women. Before Fawcett passed away from cancer at the age of 62, she put up a brave fight.

At the time, Ryan and Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart rallied together to support her as she received treatment for her analysis cancer.
According to Griffin, Ryan and Stewart were drawn closer because of the shared grief of caring for Fawcett; however, that relationship took a romantic turn in the final months preceding Fawcett's death on June 25, 2009.
Ryan defended his actions by saying he was protecting himself from his enraged son.

In the interview Griffin had with King, he revealed that Fawcett most likely saw through their pretense and realized something more had been going between the two, which is why when she died, the actress left nothing to Ryan.
To Redmond, their only child together, she left her entire estate and cash which essentially made him a millionaire. Stewart denied Griffin's allegations but chose not to take legal actions against him since it would cost her too much money.
Ryan would later admit in 2013, during a court-ordered deposition, that he cheated on Fawcett. When she caught him, she cut him off.
HE ALSO FAILED AS A FATHER
Ryan sucked as a partner, but he was even worse as a father. His son became a millionaire, and he saw it as an opportunity to get him hooked up on drugs while using him for his inheritance.
"My brother Red would do a seven-day detox, and he'd split on the sixth day... so my dad would get mad and not pay the detox center," Griffin told Larry King during their interview.
Because of his father's behavior, no detox center in LA would accept Red. When he finally got his brother locked down, Griffin revealed that he was broken because he didn't think anyone would stop him.

Their father had supplied him with cash to keep doing drugs which meant he lost each time he tried to quit. All of that, coupled with Ryan's actions from before, was what made Griffin confront him one night.
He told Ryan what he thought about his parenting and how he treated his family. His words must have hit the spot because Griffin said his father went berserk and stabbed him in the side with the fireplace poker.
As he swung the poker back for what may have been another hit, it caught Griffin's girlfriend JoAnne Berry in the face, crushing four bones in her cheeks and causing a wound that put nine stitches above her head.

Ryan proceeded to injure Berry, who was pregnant, by falling on top of her, but Griffin got hold of the poker and threatened to use it on him. Berry called the authorities.
Ryan defended his actions by saying he was protecting himself from his enraged son. According to his account, Griffin injured Berry when he took a swing at Ryan, who ducked.
He reportedly got nervous at that point and fled to his room to retrieve a gun he fired to scare off the enraged Griffin, who had the fire poker. Charlie Mattera, a close friend of Ryan's, revealed at the time that the actor had only had to defend Redmond, whom he walked in to find Griffin beating.

Tatum, Ryan's second child with Joanna Moore, asked the public not to believe what Mattera said. Even though she had been estranged from Ryan for years, she was certain her brother had only been defending her half-brother.
Ryan was later released after an investigation by the Los Angeles County sheriff's department, and county prosecutors decided to dismiss the case on the grounds of insufficient evidence.
