Gwyneth Paltrow Explains Why She Rocked the Same Hairstyle as Brad Pitt in the 90s

In a new video on Instagram, Gwyneth Paltrow reminisced about her relationship with Brad Pitt in the mid-90s, and more importantly, the time she and the movie star had matching haircuts.

Many younger fans might not be aware that there was a time when Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were engaged. In fact, they even rocked matching haircuts.

Paltrow shared a little insight into the iconic hair moment during a video she posted on her Instagram this week. The video was for her brand's GOOPGLOW Hair Serum.

The "Iron Man" actress took a moment to look at a few iconic hair moments with her assistant Kevin Keating and one of the moments included was her matching hair moment with the "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" actor.

Keating first showed Paltrow two other throwback looks before showing the GOOP founder a photo of herself and Pitt. Paltrow said it was not planned, and Keating asked if the same stylist colored their locks, to which the actress responded:

"We went to the same stylist for the cut. Chris McMillan cut both of our hair like this."

Keating then joked whether they should call Pitt to get his opinion on the matching hairdos. However, Paltrow quickly shut him down and said she was not told to involve Pitt in the video.

The former couple sported the same side-swept high-lighted blond bobs and matching black suits in 1997 when they attended the premiere of "The Devil's Own."

He was linked to many famous Hollywood women, including Jennifer Aniston, who he married in 2000.

Paltrow and Pitt dated from 1995 to 1997. At the time, the pair were rather serious as Pitt referred to her as his angel and love of his life during his Golden Globes acceptance speech, when he won for "12 Monkeys" in 1996.

Pitt would propose to the "Shakespeare In Love" actress later that year in December. However, the pair split up the following year in July. At the time, Paltrow stated that she took the "institution extremely seriously."

Fast forward almost ten years later, Paltrow told Howard Stern that she was so young, only 22, and was not ready to be married. She also said Pitt was too good for her at the time.

Although the former pair did not marry each other, Pitt and Paltrow dated different famous faces. Paltrow married Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin, in 2003; however, they parted ways in 2016. She is now with writer and producer Brad Falchuk.

Of course, Pitt has had a string of famous and high-profile relationships. He was linked to many famous Hollywood women, including Jennifer Aniston, who he married in 2000.

The former Hollywood golden couple announced their divorce in 2005. Shortly after their split, Pitt and Angelina Jolie got together, and of course, the pair went on to have six children together. They married in 2014 but filed for divorce two years later.
