Father Risked His Life to Save Daughter from Speeding SUV at the Wisconsin Christmas Parade

When an SUV spun out of control, one father did everything possible to save his daughter's life. The tragic encounter has left many reeling, and this father's heroic actions did not go unnoticed.

This month Thomas Kluka Jr. had to act quickly when a red SUV suddenly came speeding towards him and his family. The father knew something was amiss as soon as he saw the vehicle.

Within a few moments, residents of Waukesha, Wisconsin, came face to face with tragedy. Their happy day enjoying the upcoming Christmas season and festive cheer was cut short.

HE SAW PEOPLE FLYING

Kluka was alongside his wife, their daughter, and a friend when a car came rushing toward them. He explained: "I noticed something was not right, and then I seen kind of like just people flying as I stood up."

The terrifying experience happened in a flash, and Kluka's daughter was the first to react. She stood up as she saw the car approaching, and her father fortunately also got up after her.

CAR SKIDDED CLOSE BY THEM

Kluka threw his daughter out of the way and shouted for everyone to move. He shared:

"The car came right past me within at least 2 feet. I could've touched the car going by."

Kluka was relieved that he could move his child out of the way and save her life. He shared that pushing her out of the way was his main priority and stated that he didn't think he just acted quickly.

A PERSON IS IN CUSTODY

Kluka said: "If I had to get hit, I had to get hit. I was just making sure they got out of the way." The family was lucky to escape the danger, but sadly the ordeal had tragic repercussions.

Five people were killed, and around 40 bystanders suffered injuries. Authorities have revealed that they are on the case. One person has been taken into custody, but the motive is still unknown.

IT WAS TRAUMATIC

Darrel Brooks, 39, was recently identified as the suspect purportedly responsible for the SUV attack. The town's mayor delivered a statement about the harrowing events and expressed his sadness.

He said: "Tonight was a traumatic situation for the city of Waukesha." The state's treasurer, Angelito Tenorio, was one of the people who witnessed the havoc.

A LIFE-CHANGING ORDEAL

Tenorio shared: "As we were walking back in between the buildings, we saw an SUV crossover put the pedal to the metal and just zooming full speed along the parade route." After that, they heard a loud bang followed by crying and screaming.

He also stated that scenes of absolute chaos unfolded in front of his eyes. It was an encounter that has changed many lives irrevocably, and many people are now hoping for justice for the lives lost.
