Like her husband, Carr is no stranger to show business. Born on December 12, 1950, she is an actress and has appeared in movies such as "The Jungle Book," "The Streets of San Francisco," and "Once An Eagle."

WHY WAS PARKER SHOT?

Parker and Carr tied the knot on June 18, 1992, and have stayed married for almost three decades. Together, the couple has weathered storms and fought through challenging situations, including a near-death experience for the "Simon & Simon" star.

On October 1, 1992, Parker escaped death after being shot twice by a neighbor identified as Robert St. George during an alleged brawl. The actor claimed he had gone to the culprit's house to confront him over some nasty words he said to Carr earlier that evening during a court trial.

Carr had previously explained that she was walking her and Parker's three dogs when St. George, who lived around, yelled at her, insisting that she remove her dog's droppings from his lawn.

In her response, the actress protested that her dogs did not relieve themselves on St George's lawn, and an argument ensued.

Later that evening, when Parker came home, Carr reported the incident to her husband, pleading that he let sleeping dogs lie, but the actor was adamant. He went to St George's apartment, and what began as a normal conversation soon escalated.

The culprit dashed into his house, and a few seconds later, he appeared with a gun. The actor said the look on St George's face screamed "pure evil," and without hesitation, he shot Parker twice — under his left armpit and behind his upper right arm.

Parker barely made it back to his house and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he spent a night before being discharged.

In the end, the shooter was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He was eventually sentenced to nine years in the state prison by a Van Nuys Superior Court jury.

GERALD MCRANEY TALKS ABOUT A REUNION SHOW

During his time on "Simon & Simon," Parker played the onscreen brother of Richard "Rick" Simon, portrayed by Gerald McRaney. Although it has been years since McRaney starred in the hit series, he said he would still love a reunion.

Four years ago, McRaney was a guest on Los Angeles Times, where a fan asked if he would like a reunion. In his response, the star revealed that they had done a reunion show many years ago, but he would still love another one.

Most importantly, McRaney still keeps in touch with his colleagues from the series. In the interview, he noted that he talked to Parker once every month, and they still go fishing and hunting.
