A few years ago, actor Mark Wahlberg sold his Beverly Hills mansion five years after putting it up on the market. It was a bit pricy at first but later got reduced.

Mark Wahlberg sold off his 11,500 square foot five-bedroom Mediterranean abode in 2013. He initially listed the house on the market for $15.9 million back in 2008 but ended up reducing the price to $12.995.

The property boasted a screening room and a recording studio, including a luxury pad with a gym, full-sized boxing ring, basketball, racquetball, and tennis courts.

In addition, it had an enormous swimming pool overlooking the Benedict Canyon. Wahlberg purchased the mansion in 2001 for $5 million and spent two years remodeling it.

The 9000 square foot main house had five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. An additional 2,5000 square foot guest house consisted of seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms.

HIS FRENCH MANOR

In 2009, the Boston native bought six acres of land for $8 million in one of Los Angeles' prestigious neighborhoods of Beverly Park for a bigger abode. Five years later, the 30,000 square foot French Manor was complete.

The two-story palatial palace includes a full-sized basketball court, a putting green, swimming pool with a water slide, a guest house, a three-car garage, and a large motor court.

The landscape features trees around the yard and lush grass, with a picturesque backyard displaying a clear view of the Benedict Canyon.

On the interior, the spacious home has a large-scale gym furnished with every piece of equipment needed for the action movie star's routine workouts. In July 2020, during the "Gym & Fridge" segment, Wahlberg revealed to Men's Health that he worked out five times a week at 10:00 am.

He also spoke frankly about what he used to keep in his pantry, sharing there used to be mainly junk food, but now, there are healthy foods under a strict family diet program. His gray fridge contained a lot of veggies, greens, and juices. Wahlberg has gone on a full-on plant-based program.

Apart from food, his white kitchen has two islands with black countertops featuring wooden floors and matching stools. His house also consists of a wine cellar, a brown-themed-colored home cinema with see-through roofing, and a two-story library.

In December, the businessman posted a video showing his high ceiling entryway decorated for the holidays, with the lighting lit up the opulent adjacent staircases.

Right in the middle of them was a beige round table placed on top of a gray rug with two blue chairs on one side, separated by a coffee table and a gold-trimmed couch on the other.

The mansion's outdoor space boasts covered ceilings, limestone floors, and a fireplace. Big brother Paul Wahlberg once said this about the former rapper's house: "It still blows me away. That grandeur is amazing."

The overall exterior of the mansion features stunning gray stonework and has large, vaulted ceilings, which gives off a spacious feel. Wahlberg decorated one of his family rooms with comfortable couches and chairs.

He also filled another living space with a huge television on the wall covered by drawback curtains and other entertainment. In one of his son's rooms, the "Ted" star placed a basketball hoop in the corner.

The abode is grand, thanks to one of the city's most in-demand designers, Richard Laundry. The Quebec-born architect has become the go-to-dream-home designer for certain meticulous clients about visions for their homes.

He once talked about his approach: "My goal always has to go with finding the right proportions. It is not about building bigger and bigger homes."

Laundry collaborated with builder John Finton on the estate and previously designed houses for singer-songwriter Rod Stewart, media proprietor Haim Saban, and former ice hockey star Wayne Gretzky. He said this about Wahlberg's home:

"There are no ginormous rooms here; there's no ballroom, no bowling alley, no indoor basketball court. I've done most of those kinds of things in other projects, but here it's a good traditional family house with no craziness to it."

HIS WIFE & KIDS

Wahlberg shares his gigantic home with his wife Rhea Durham, whom he wed in 2009, and their four children, teen daughters Ella, 18, Grace, 12, and sons Brendan, 13, Michael, 15.

After meeting in 2001, the couple welcomed their first child in 2003 and had yet to marry. They expanded their family when their eldest son Michael was born in 2006, followed by Brendan in 2008.

In July 2009, "The Departed" star and the mother of his kids walked down the aisle in a lavish wedding ceremony. The longtime lovers celebrated their nuptials by welcoming their fourth and youngest child, Grace, in 2010.

Durham is not only a mom and a wife, but she is also a career woman. She was born in 1978 and worked her way up the modeling ladder to eventually grace the covers of high-end fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire.

The 43-year-old also walked on Victoria's Secret runway in 2000 and 2001. Durham even launched a handbag line called Ella Grace, named after her daughters.

She loves motherhood and spoke candidly about how much she treasured being a parent in 2007 while admitting it was not all rosy:

"I'm happy. I love the traditions of family and home. Babies, kids, holidays, that’s what I’m good at.”

COOPED UP WITH THE FAMILY DURING QUARANTINE

Amid the ongoing pandemic, she and Wahlberg have been spending time at home during the lockdown, and the Oscar nominee has been giving fans a glimpse of their humble abode.

Reportedly worth nearly $300 million, the 50-year-old has been urging fans to stay home from the comfort of his home and treating them to fun videos being playful with his kids.

Wahlberg and his brood have been hanging out in the garden with him hosting his quarantined equestrian challenge with his youngest daughter.

His children have an open playroom that boasts enough space for the family's pet pup to try out, a basketball net, and shelves lined with toys.
