Vivian Lightfoot: Everything We Know about Lori Lightfoot's Teenage Daughter

Since she became mayor and specifically as the first openly lesbian Black woman mayor elected for Chicago, many people have become intrigued about Lori Lightfoot's daughter, Vivian Lightfoot.

Lori Lightfoot is one of the few individuals who have transformed traditional politics' enormous landscape. The 59-year-old lawyer is now the 56th mayor in Chicago after winning the elections in 2019.

Since holding the highest position in the city, Lightfoot, a proud lesbian mayor, has left many supporters curious about many aspects of her personal life. This, of course, includes family such as her and her wife's daughter, Vivian Lightfoot.

WHO IS AMY ESHLEMAN AND LORI LIGHTFOOT'S DAUGHTER VIVIAN?

It's unclear when the power couple, Lightfoot and Amy Eshleman, welcomed their adopted 13-year-old daughter into their family; however, it was believed that they adopted the teen when she was a child.

Eshleman and her wife consider Vivian to be a blessing in their lives. The proud Eshleman boldly displays affection for their child on Instagram on occasions such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

For the Mothers Day post, she shared a picture of her daughter and her mom with the caption: "A happy #MothersDay to my beautiful and loving mom who gives her kids and grandkids the best hugs and best words of wisdom. ❤️"

Vivian, like any other teenager, discovered an affinity for social media. Lightfoot revealed in "The Axe Files" interview that her daughter is hooked on TikTok and would encourage her and Eshleman to join the fun. In her own words, she said:

"She's obsessed with TikTok, and she's been trying to get Amy and I to do a TikTok with her, and I'm like, 'No. I'm not doing that.' So when I came home...and said, 'By the way, I just did my first TikTok,' of course, her reaction was, 'I can't believe you did it with somebody else and you didn't do it with me!'"

Given that her parents are now public figures, Vivian has been open to helping them achieve their goals for Chicago. She previously helped with Lightfoot's mayoral campaign in 2019.

WHO IS AMY ESHLEMAN, LORI LIGHTFOOT'S WIFE?

Eshleman is originally from Sterling, a small city in Illinois. In the early 1990s, she moved to Chicago, where she spent over two decades working at the Chicago Public Library.

The six-foot-tall first lady earned a bachelor's degree in history from Miami University in Ohio. Eshleman has been in a happy and long relationship with Lightfoot, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

Eshleman hasn't stopped swooning over Lightfoot since tying the knot. In honor of Pride Month, the first lady of Chicago paid tribute to her wife on Instagram. Eshleman wrote of her wife:

"Happy to be proud out loud with my wife."

Even before Lightfoot became mayor, Eshleman had always attended the annual Chicago Pride Parade. In 2018, the lovely pair walked hand-in-hand during the special event.

As she celebrates more years of love and happiness with her wife, Lightfoot reflects on how fortunate she and Eshleman are to be able to freely express their love, a freedom that was once considered illegal.

Lightfoot, born in Massillon, Ohio, penned an inspiring message on Instagram, writing that there is still much work to do to fight against hate. She added:

"Today, I'm raising an incredible child freely and openly with the love of my life."

Eshleman and Lightfoot join the ranks of public figures advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights. As the pair, actors Ian McKellen, Jim Parsons, and Elliot Page are well-known for supporting the said community.
