Nicolas Cage, Is Expecting a Daughter with his Wife — He Already Has Grandkids

Nicolas Cage is already a father to two children from his early relationships. However, he is exceptionally excited about being a third-time dad to his baby girl with his fifth wife, Riko Shibata.

American actor Nicolas Cage has had a prolific career in film and has won some of Hollywood's most envied accolades. His extensive film resume includes appearances in "Raising Arizona," "Honeymoon in Vegas," "Vampire's Kiss," "Racing with the Moon," and "Birdy," among many others.

While he's gained indelible success in his career spanning over four decades, he has not been as lucky in his romances and personal relationships. The star has been married five times and has two children.

He met his first wife, Patricia Arquette, in a restaurant in 1987, and right there and then, he knew and told her he'd marry her. To prove he was a worthy husband, he asked her to list things she wanted him to bring her.

Arquette says he started bringing her things on the list, which she did not expect. They eventually married in 1995, but unfortunately, the union ended in 2001.

Cage then moved on and married Singer and Songwriter Lisa Marie Presley. The two walked down the aisle in August 2002, but sadly, their union only lasted three months, after which they divorced, finalizing the process in 2004.

That same year, Cage met Alice Kim, a 20-years-younger waitress in a restaurant where she worked. They got engaged two months after their first encounter and married later that year. The pair called it quits in 2016 but have remained good friends.

Cage's fourth marriage was to makeup artist Erika Koike after a whirlwind romance that ended before it barely began. They dated for a year and tied the knot in Las Vegas in March 2019 before a sudden split four days later. Months down the line, Cage was still in disbelief about what had gone down and said:

"I don't really want to talk about it. I was pretty upset about that and the way things happened."

The actor is also a father to two sons. He welcomed his first, Weston Coppola Cage, in 1990 with then-girlfriend Christina Fulton and his second Kal-el Coppola Cage with his third wife, Kim.

HOW IS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS SONS?

It is difficult enough parenting, leave alone parenting as a big movie star. While many film stars struggle to balance fame and fatherhood, Cage appears to have nailed down the parts.

He and his two sons are reportedly very close and share a strong bond. And while Weston did not follow in his father's acting footsteps, he is an entertainer and has been involved in two metal bands.

The actor has been photographed numerous times with his sons, and the three seem close, despite claims by Fulton that the "National Treasure" actor has "damaged" their son's life.

Speaking to Inside Edition in 2011, Fulton shared her concerns about her son, saying that Cage is responsible for Weston's "troubled" life. She claimed as The Things reports:

"Nicolas Cage has damaged and interfered and done something absolutely horrific."

While the accusations remain unconfirmed, what is certain is that the actor shares a pretty typical father-son relationship with his youngest son, Kal-el. The actor disclosed that he strived to give his son a regular upbringing.

However, that did not pan out as expected, and at some point, Kal-el started referring to his father by his stage name, "Nicolas Cage," instead of "dad." He shared:

"I have to remind him, 'I'm Daddy. I'm Daddy.'"

Born December 26, 1990, Weston describes himself as a "martial artist" and "spiritualist" and has been married three times. He married his first wife, Nikki Williams, in 2011 but divorced after only two years.

He then married Danielle in 2013 and divorced three years later in 2016. Unwavered by his unlucky streak of failed romances, Weston once again found love when he met and married his third and current wife, Hila, in 2018.

On the other hand, Kal-el has had a pretty low-key life but also appears to follow in his father's footsteps. He made his first film debut voicing young Bruce in the 2018 family action flick "Teen Titans Go! To The Movies."

In addition to being a doting father, Cage is also proud of his title as a grandfather, which he got in 2014 after his son Weston and then-wife Danielle welcomed son Lucian Augustus Coppola Cage. He said of being a grandpa:

"I love it. Every second."

FINDING LOVE AGAIN

After a failed 4-day marriage to Erika Koike in March 2019, Cage did not give up on love. Luckily, his efforts to find a soulmate paid off when he met 31-years-younger Riko Shibata in Shiga, Japan. He says of the first time he met his fifth wife:

"I thought she was stunning [and] we had a lot in common. She likes animals too, so I asked her, 'Do you have any pets?'"

She answered that she had two flying squirrels, and Cage thought to himself that he'd found "the one." They married a year later, on February 16, 2021, a date they chose in honor of the actor's late dad's birthday.

The bride wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto and walked down the aisle to her favorite song — "Winter Song" by Kiroro.

The couple is now readying themselves to welcome their first baby together. The actor expressed his excitement at the idea of becoming a father again now that his two sons are older. He shared:

"My boys are all grown up, and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair. I'm looking forward to getting back to that."

Speaking on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in April 2022, Cage disclosed that his unborn baby is a girl and that he would name her Lennon Augie.

He confessed just how exhilarated he was and how much he looked forward to welcoming his baby girl: "I'm thrilled. It's going to be the biggest adventure of my life."
