American rapper Ice Cube has reached fame in the entertainment industry after building his career for several years.

He is famously known for starring in "Boyz n the Hood" and "Straight Outta Compton" and co-creating "Friday." However, his most tremendous success is his family, including his wife and kids.

The rapper, born O'Shea Jackson, has been married to Kimberly Woodruff-Jackson since 1990 after the first meeting in 1988. In April 1992, O'Shea and Kimberly tied the knot and had been together since.

According to the artist, their long marriage can be credited to their need for communication. The couple also shares five children, two daughters and three sons.

Unlike O'Shea, some of his children chose a career path that took them away from the spotlight. They have also lived privately since their childhood.

Karima Jackson, the couple's first daughter and third child was born in 1994. Throughout the years, Karima would frequent red carpet appearances with her father. However, not much is known about her.

Similarly, Deja, reportedly born in 1994, stays away from the limelight. It is unsure if Daja is Karima's twin as their parents have not confirmed the news.

O'Shea and Kimberly welcomed their youngest child, Shareef Jackson, in 1995. Like his two sisters, Shareef lived most of his life out of the spotlight. However, he has been seen sporting NBA apparel in the past, as he is a big basketball fan.

Two of the couple's five children have followed their father's footsteps in the entertainment industry. Born in 1992, Darrell Jackson is O'Shea and Kimberly's second child. He pursued a career in the entertainment industry as a rapper, performing under the stage name Doughboy.

In 2010, he collaborated with his father and older brother to release the song "Y'all Know How I Am." The musician works with his father's sublabel company, Lench Mob Records.

Meanwhile, his brother, O'Shea Jackson Jr., is the eldest of the Jackson siblings. He was born a year before his parents got married in 1991.

Besides being a rapper under the moniker OMG, he is also an actor known for the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" mini-series, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," and "Just Mercy."

O'Shea Jr. became a father in 2017 after welcoming a daughter. He previously shared his dad's parenting advice:

"His advice is always, you know, just to always tell the truth [...]. Always plan out your naps."

Ice Cube's Son Biopic, "Straight Outta Compton"

O'Shea Jr. has shown that talent runs in their family. He received his education at the University of Southern California for screenwriting and brought to life his father's 2015 hit box office biopic "Straight Outta Compton," starring O'Shea himself.

While filming, O'Shea Jr. was transformed from a screenwriter into an actor. "I wanted to make sure that people appreciated everything my father had done," he said. "I've just been running with it from there."

O'Shea Jr. hopes his writing and creativity can help open opportunities for others and ignite motivation to pursue their life goals.

As for his acting career, O'Shea Jr. is a face familiar to many. While filming "Godzilla: King of Monsters" in 2017, a blessing came upon him in the form of his firstborn daughter. The actor found beauty in his daughter's birth alongside his then film. He shared:

"The day she was born was actually the day I got to touch Godzilla's skin, so it was super meaningful, and it was deep. It was great. That's my best friend."

While his career has been nothing but beautiful, becoming a father cannot compare. As he revealed in an interview, fatherhood gave him a new purpose and motivation in life.

When the actor welcomed his child, all of his life decisions were suddenly calculated, knowing that every move would somehow affect his daughter.

"It is game time. It is [the] fourth quarter, and it makes you about your business. It makes you more calculated in how you handle yourself and the things that will represent your child going further in life," he said.

Ice Cube Is a Private Man

It comes as no surprise that the Jackson kids are private when it comes to their personal lives. O'Shea himself has been, for the most part, private. In previous years, the "Are We There Yet?" star has kept certain aspects of his family quiet.

Although he sometimes posts about his family online, he always draws the line between professional and personal. However, he did share about proposing to his wife for the second time on their 20th anniversary.

Known to have a tough appearance on-screen, O'Shea Jackson is quite soft and sweet when it comes to Kimberly. The first time he proposed, O'Shea was still working to make a name for himself in the industry.

He made a grand gesture by buying his then-girlfriend a BMW car with a ring sitting on the seat for her to see. It turned out to be the best commitment of his life and perhaps the best purchase he made.

"It's a true partnership," he said of their marriage. "I respect my wife, and she respects me." Indeed, the strong could have set the standards for their children's relationships.
