Jodie Sweetin was a child star, and she knew well the problems that can overcome the young. She was born on January 19, 1982, and started acting at the age of 5, starring in the sitcom "Valerie," and being featured in several commercials.

She was cast in "Full House" in 1987 and is best known for her portrayal of the adorable Stephanie Tanner. Over the next eight years, audiences saw Jodie grow up, but life can be complicated for a child actor.

Jodie confessed that when "Full House" ended when she was 13, she went through an identity crisis. Everything in her life and her self-esteem was wrapped up in her work, and without it, she was lost.

Jodie fell into substance abuse and married twice before what she revealed was the most important moment of her life: giving birth to her daughter Zoie Laurel May Herpin.

Zoie Was Born a Week after Her Due Date

Little Zoie was born on April 12, 2008, a week after her due date. Her mom had to under an emergency cesarean to ensure that Zoie was delivered safely. The actress's then-husband, Cody Herpin, said she was subjected to an emergency c-section after 40 hours of labor.

Doctors opted for a c-section to ensure the safety of mother and child and because Zoie was already overdue by one week. Jodie's first glimpse of her daughter was in the operating room.

In 2019, the actress shared a touching photo on Instagram of herself tenderly kissing her newborn for the first time while still on the table of the OR. It was motherhood that taught her the true value of life.

On Zoie's 14th birthday, her doting mom shared a sweet photo of herself, her gorgeous teen in bunny ears, and her youngest daughter celebrating. She wrote a long dedication to her daughter and shared:

"Zoie has grown up so much these last few years and I can’t tell you how PROUD I am of the young woman she is becoming. She is helpful, kind, hilarious, generous, a good friend and So much more."

Jodie is particularly proud of the maturity with which Zoie handles her social media presence. The young girl has an Instagram account that is private but already has over 10,000 followers.

If Zoie has a passion, it must be soccer. Her Instagram account has no available posts, but it does have a profile photo of herself in a soccer uniform chasing a ball.

In her birthday post, the actress revealed that Zoie's dad, whom she divorced in 2010 when their daughter was two years old, was there to celebrate with them and have a slice of her red velvet birthday cake. Cody shared a snap of Zoie on his Instagram and wrote:

"My ZoZo, I can’t believe you turned 14 today. Your mom and I are crazy proud of ya. Thank you for teaching me how to be a dad. I never had one around so we are still learning this together. Love ya and Happy Birthday! ❤️💯"

The actress shares joint custody of Zoie with Cody, and her agreement obliges her to pay him $2,000 a month in child support until their daughter turns 18. Despite their divorce, the former couple seems to co-parent Zoie amicably.

Zoie Gave Her Heart to Soccer

If Zoie has a passion, it must be soccer. Her Instagram account has no available posts, but it does have a profile photo of herself in a soccer uniform chasing a ball. That means that Jodie is a soccer mom.

The posts she shared on her Instagram stories show her scoring a goal, and the caption proudly boasts: "My goal scored #22, baby!" Other clips show Zoie with her team, which won their latest match 4-0.

It looks like Zoie had some serious moves and is one of the stars of her team. If she carries on playing seriously, we might yet see her as a contender in the NWSL.

Zoie Is a Proud Older Sister

After her divorce from Zoie's dad in 2010, the actress welcomed a daughter with Morty Coyle. Beatrix Carlin Sweetin-Coyle was born on August 31, 2010, and Zoie was finally a big sister.

Jodie and Morty Coyle married in 2012, but the relationship didn't last, and they divorced in 2016. The actress was once again a single mom. She frequently shares photos of herself and her girls on social media, and the three look very close.

Zoie is a lovely young lady, and Beatrix is still a pre-teen, but they are always there with their mom to support each other at soccer games, school concerts, and dance recitals. Jodie, Zoie, and Beatrix have their own house full of love.
