Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed six children during their time as a couple. One of the eldest, Zahara, has now reached a new milestone, and Jolie had to learn how to cope with her daughter entering a new phase.

The Jolie-Pitt children have often been in the spotlight because of their parents. However, Zahara has managed to stay lowkey for quite some time. Although on Wednesday, November 16, she popped up again for making her mother emotional.

Zahara is enrolled at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a historically black women's liberal arts college. She moved into her dorm room on Wednesday, and Jolie admitted she felt emotional about it. When asked how she felt being a Spelman mom, she said she felt she would start crying.

The "Maleficent" actress spoke to the school's vice president of student affairs and said that although she hadn't started crying yet, she knew she was going to eventually. The school's president told her the upcoming ceremonies were sure to make her cry.

Upon hearing that the school's president thought it very likely that she would cry at some point, Jolie said:

"I heard tomorrow night's the big night. I'm holding it together."

How Does Jolie Bond With Other Parents While Supporting Zahara?

There have been many events that Zahara and Jolie have participated in leading up to Zahara being a student at the college. These events have allowed Zahara to see what the college has to offer and given Jolie the opportunity to bond with school alumni and parents.

One of these events was the Los Angeles Send-Off for Incoming Freshman Students, in which school alumni gathered to dance and bond with one another. In a video posted on Instagram, Jolie and Zahara are seen there.

Jolie tries to learn the dance that is being done but laughs when she can't get it right and moves to the side of the dance floor where Zahara is before laughing and hugging her daughter. She also laughed with another school alum in the video.

During her visits to the college with Zahara, Jolie tried to lay low. However, when she was recognized or approached by someone at the college, she was polite and kind to them while remaining supportive of her daughter.

While it was surprising for some that Angelina came to the campus for homecoming weekend, Zahara invited her mother to be there. A source said: "Not all college kids want to be walking around homecoming with their mom the entire weekend, so she does feel blessed that Z still wants her around."

The source said that being a parent was one of the most important things in Jolie's life, but now that her daughter was older, their relationship had become more friendly than anything else. The source said:

“She has so much admiration for her daughter, for her absolute brilliance, so being able to see her shine at school is truly one of the proudest moments of her life."

How Does Zahara Feel at College as The Daughter of "VIP" Parents?

Although Jolie being on campus for homecoming wasn't the first time she and Zahara had visited there, it was more special this time because of the bonds Zahara has created with her peers.

She is apparently thrilled that all her friends like her mom and was overjoyed to have her mother with her on campus during that time. However, she doesn't let the fact that her parents are “VIPs" get to her or her friends.

Zahara has formed bonds and friendships independent of her identity as a Jolie-Pitt, and a source said:

"Zahara appreciates that she isn't treated differently at all just because of who her family is."

Despite having one of the most famous families of the 21st century, Zahara is still managing to have a normal college experience and has adjusted well to life as a Stelman student living on campus.
