Grey called Stella "an amazing human" who "changed every cell in my body the moment I met her." She said her daughter means a lot to her because she lives in her truth: "She is my heart."

The proud mom also described her child as "funny," "smart," and very "kind." Grey thanked Stella for bringing a "light" into her life with her "beautiful soul."

Who Is Grey's Daughter, Stella?

Grey shares her daughter with "Avengers" actor Clark Gregg, her former husband. The pair welcomed their child together in December 2001.

They started dating in 2000 and wed a year later, in July 2001, months before they became parents. Grey and the father of her child were married for nearly 20 years before they announced their separation.

The duo released a joint statement on Instagram where they stated they would remain bonded despite parting ways and cherish their time together and the life they brought into the world together:

"After 19 years together, we separated in January 2020, knowing we'd always be a family who loves, values, and cares for each other."

The former couple's daughter is now 21 years old and followed in her parents' footsteps by pursuing an acting career. She appeared alongside her dad in the 2013 film, "Trust Me" and an episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," in 2017.

Stella has a good relationship with her father too. Clark even celebrated his child's birthday in 2022 and wrote that she is a "beautiful, big-hearted miracle of depth and epic sass, and you melt me in my tracks on the regular."

In March 2019, the writer asked his social media fans whether or not his daughter looked like him, alongside a photo of the pair at a movie premiere. He received mixed responses from his followers, as some agreed while others disagreed.

Stella also showed her dad appreciation in June 2018 when celebrating Father's Day. She posted a throwback video of her as a toddler and her dad as they giggled and called him a "legend."

Moreover, she looks a lot like her famous mother. The uncanny resemblance is apparent through Grey's throwback Instagram picture from April 2022 – featuring her young self.

Stella's Reaction to "Dirty Dancing" & Her Relationship with Her Mom

Now that the resemblance has been established, Stella is more interested in her mother's movies and has watched her most famous film yet, 1987's "Dirty Dancing."

When asked in an interview in August 2020 whether or not her daughter had seen the movie, Grey revealed she did not have a positive reaction to the classic film. It bothered Stella that her beloved mom was "dancing" with someone other than her dad onscreen.

"She did not like it and did not want to watch it again. I don't know if she ever watched it again. She did not want to see me dancing with anybody but Daddy, and it bugged her," said the doting mom.

However, Stella did react positively to her parent's book, titled "Out of the Corner: A Memoir," and expressed pride toward her mom, making her happy:

"I said, 'You read it?' And she goes, 'Mom, I'm so proud of you.' I was like, 'This is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Grey explained that it meant a lot that Stella loved the memoir because she desired for her to learn about her history before she came into the world.

The mother of one said many children are unaware of the trials and tribulations their parents went through before they were born, which was the inspiration behind the book.

The New York native said the memoir was more like a glimpse for her daughter "about where she came from." She emphasized that the next generation must understand the past traumas that existed before them.

Grey accomplished that with the book. Stella understood what she was trying to portray and "quoted" some of the things discussed, which became helpful for her.
