Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, inherited almost everything from her dad: eyes, smile, talent, character, and passionate heart. Loving him with incredible strength, she came to his house in Graceland throughout her life - until her very last day.

King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, had only one child, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, whom he shared with his only wife, Priscilla Presley. The pair were married from 1967 to 1973 after, four years of marriage.

Their daughter Lisa was born in February 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. Elvis sadly died in 1977 at age 42 when his little girl was only nine years old.

She grew up to be a singer like him and once revealed that he had a moving quote that she did not know about. Lisa opened up about it during her appearance on the talk show, "Lorraine" in 2022:

"There was a quote on the wall as I was leaving the [new Graceland] exhibit. It said something like: 'Becoming a father is the best thing that's ever happened to me.' I have never seen it before, [..]so that was cool."

The family had a mansion in Memphis, which has an archive of their family life. Elvis had photos of his daughter in his wallet, including a child's snowy-white fake fur coat and a blue scarf with a handwritten message to her that she never knew existed.

"My God, I've never seen that," she said once she saw the particular fabric. "I want it. Can I take it? I'm going to get it framed," said Lisa. She and Elvis had an admirable father-and-daughter relationship.

He sang her lullabies very early in the morning and even gave her a little performance. Lisa reminisced about their memories in an interview with Diane Sawyer in January 2009:

"[..] He'd always wake me up to sing in the middle of the night, get on the table, and sing. I remember him as my dad, but he was a very exciting dad."

Although it had been decades since her father passed, Lisa once shared that she still remembered the conversations she used to have with him during her appearance on "The Talk."

She revealed they spent "a lot of time together in the upper part of Graceland." That was how they bonded as father and child. When asked whether Elvis was stern as a parent, Lisa said he was far from that:

"He was not strict at all."

Having known that when she was little, the songwriter said she knew she could get away with mischief because her dad would be asleep the whole day and would be up at night.

Lisa revealed in 2003 that she and her dad were close and described him as "very adoring, very sweet." When asked whether she ever sang with him, she said it was more of her singing for Elvis as he used to put her on the table to sing.

How Lisa Reacted to Her Father's Death

When the news of her father's death became known, Lisa struggled to comprehend that he was gone. It took a while for her to understand what was happening:

"I was so astounded by the hundreds and thousands of people who were clearly in mourning. They were having these violent reactions in front of me. Thousands of people were coming through my house to look at his body."

The Hollywood star recalled, "watching them all and being so confused." Lisa said she failed to have her own "grieving" period. It happened only a month later when she went camping and finally broke down.

Years later, Lisa said her father's music was "embedded" in her from a very young age. She knew he was all about music because she often heard him sing. She admitted that she was a big fan of his music and never tried to sound like him with her records.

When New Orleans experienced Hurricane Katrina, she paid tribute to the city's residents with her father's famous song, "In The Ghetto." The song made her so emotional that she cried while thinking about the damage the natural disaster had caused.

"I got more emotional during that recording than I've ever gotten." Her mom Priscilla reacted the same way once she heard it, "she lost it," revealed Lisa. Priscilla was taken aback. Her daughter said she, too, must have felt "something special" about the song.

One duet dates back to 1997's "Don't Cry Daddy," and her last came in 2018 called "Where No One Stands Alone." She later found it difficult to perform the song:

"I just felt really emotional. It's never pleasant to sing and cry. You just can't do that in a good way. I had to keep my composure, but I felt very connected to him and to the song."

Lisa also revealed that she felt Elvis's hand while performing onstage but explained it did not mean she spoke to him. However, at that moment, "I just felt like a hand came down to me, it felt like that a little bit."

Lisa Is Now Reunited with Elvis in Death

Lisa recorded her last album in Graceland at Sun Studio. She said she frequently visited her hometown whenever she could. The "Lights Out" singer also went there with her loved ones and had dinners. One evening she took the kids and drove them in a "golf cart" to show them around.

Sadly, Lisa died in Los Angeles, California, on January 12, 2023. She was 54 years old. Her mother revealed the heart-breaking news: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us."

Lisa was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack. She was discovered unresponsive at her Calabasas residence, said multiple sources.

Days before her passing, she had visited Graceland to celebrate what would have been her dad's 88th birthday on January 8, 2023. Actress Leah Remini paid tribute to her on Twitter and wrote that she is "heartbroken" over her death.

Remini further divulged that the brunette beauty did not have it "easy" in life as everyone believed. "May she rest in peace, resting with her son and father now." She ended the post by saying she was praying for Priscilla and her grandkids.

Lisa had been married four times. She first wed Danny Keogh, then Michael Jackson, Nicholas Cage, and Michael Lockwood. She had four children a son named Benjamin, who died in July 2020, and daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper.
