Since Michelle Wu's victory in November 2021, followers and supporters of the Boston mayor became curious about her family life. Last year marked a decade since she's been married to Conor Perwaski. The couple also has two adorable children who inspired Wu's run for office.

Pewarski graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Film studies; however, he mainly led his career focusing on the former major. He worked at Wells Fargo between June 2010 and April 2013.

Pewarski then moved to East Boston Savings Bank that same month and remained with the company until November 2021. The Massachusetts native, whose wife is from Chicago, has also worked in real estate.

Conor Proposed Under The Christmas Lights

Pewarski had prepared a grand romantic gesture under the Christmas lights to surprise Wu after a dinner date on December 17, 2011. She was still a student at Harvard Law School, and Pewarski had a sister who was an undergraduate at the institution. Wu was "completely floored," as she recalled:

"We walked through the park and there was no one around. Then suddenly there was music and lights, and my two younger sisters emerged from behind bushes."

The words "Will You Marry Me?" were spelled out on one of the granite park benches, which Wu read while "La Vie en Rose" played in the background. She happily agreed to be Pewarski's wife, and the pair married on September 8, 2012.

Michelle Sons Inspired Her To Run For Mayor

The parents of two welcomed their first son, Blaise, in December 2014. Wu announced his arrival on her Facebook page. Three years later, they completed their family, welcoming the now-3-year-old Cass on July 12, 2017. Blaise and Cass inspired their mom's run for mayor, as she reflected on her website:

"This work is deeply personal for me. As a mom to Blaise and Cass, every day I feel the urgency of families fighting the system to hear us and to build communities that are healthy, safe and resilient. Now’s the time for us to lead."

The boys have made regular appearances on Wu's page since their arrival. In September 2021, she shared that it was Blaise and Cass's first day back to school. Wu wished all the "Kindergarten & Pre-K families" a happy first day alongside a photo of her carrying one of her sons.

Michelle and Conor met the Prince and Princess of Wales Once

Last year in November, the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate – whose flirtatious relationship included partying and breakups – visited the United States for the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Boston.

The Earthshot award was founded by the Prince of Wales in 2020 to honor the efforts of those who contributed to the wellness of the environment. The ceremony also included performances from Billie Eilish, Ellie Goulding, and other celebrity hosts.

Before it began, Pewarski, Wu, and their sons met briefly with His and Her Majesty. Wu spoke about composting with Her Majesty, a "strict" mom of three, who also asked about Blaise and Cass's schoolwork.

The Boston Mayor also showed her a 1976 photo of the late Queen Elizabeth II's visit in 1976. It had been eight years since Prince William and Princess Kate's last visit to the United States, and they were in the country primarily for climate-focused events.
