Pennington has spent years in the public eye; however, Bock was able to keep her personal life under wraps after gaining popularity following her relationship. Although his relationship with Bock did not work out, Pennington found love again with an old friend in 2020. Pennington and his wife, Kellee Merrell, met in 2010 while he was filming a TV show in Toronto, Canada.

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Merrell is a social media manager, and the couple remained in contact through mutual friends. Their relationship reached new heights in early 2020 when Merrell and Pennington quarantined together during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to one of Pennington's representatives, he popped the question over coffee while the couple was relaxing on the dock of his home in Florida. Pennington said:

"I have admired Kellee from afar for years. She's a beautiful person inside and out. Luckily our paths finally crossed at the right time.... I never thought I would get married, but she changed that. Glad I waited for the one."

He announced the news of his engagement on social media, sharing a picture of Merrell's tear-drop-shaped engagement ring, and in the caption, he wrote, "It's the 'yes' for me..."

In 2021, Merrell and Pennington joined Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, and Paris Hilton on a long list of celebrities to tie the knot that year.

Their intimate wedding, with only eight guests, took place in the backyard of the 19th-century home they were restoring in Savannah, Georgia.

The bride and groom went for a laid-back feel as Pennington ditched a tie or bow and complimented his gray suit with a cowboy hat. Merrell also added a twist to tradition and paired her white dress with a blazer and a veil.
