Drew and his "property sister" wife created a charming nursery for their long-awaited baby.
One half of the "Property Brother," Drew Scott, shared a happy update on his life as a father. The TV personality and his wife, Linda Phan, announced that Linda was pregnant in 2021. After a long time trying for a baby, they were finally granted their wish, and the little one arrived in May 2022.
The overjoyed parents haven't had an easy road to parenthood, with multiple hurdles along the way that made it seem like they would never have a baby of their own. Luckily, after many treatments, the couple could conceive and have a little baby boy.
The pair met in 2010. At the time, they were both attending the Toronto Fashion Week and Drew happened to bump into Linda. She was wearing a badge that jokingly marked her as "fashion police." She was handing out tickets to people wearing unflattering outfits. When Drew saw her, he knew he had to meet her.
Drew remembered how confusing and worrying it was when Linda couldn't get pregnant.
They went to a sushi restaurant on their first date, and they ended up singing karaoke. When Linda eventually moved in with Drew in 2012, the pair shared a home with Drew's brother, Johnathan Scott. However, this made little difference, and all three started working together. Linda became their "property sister."
Why Was the Couple's Road to Parenthood Bumpy?
Eventually, Drew and Linda said their vows and started thinking about expanding their family. However, they soon realized having a baby would be easier said than done. Linda had trouble falling pregnant, and after trying for a while, they decided they needed expert help.
In 2022, Drew and Linda announced the arrival of their new baby boy on their podcast, "At Home."
Drew remembered how confusing and worrying it was when Linda couldn't get pregnant. He mentioned that the lack of knowledge and experience worsened the situation. When they finally figured out that Linda had thyroid problems and Graves disease, things started to look up because they had a diagnosis. Drew stated:
"I think for us, the whole thing was we were so lost. We were trying for years, we wanted to have kids for years and with no success. It was a lack of education, not having the right support, the right professionals around us."
With the help of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI), the pair finally made some headway. The couple stuck with the treatments for a while. Linda eventually fell pregnant in 2021, much to Drew and his wife's delight.
How Does Drew Scott's Son Look Now?
In 2022, Drew and Linda announced the arrival of their new baby boy on their podcast, "At Home." The couple shared the happy news with their fans and listeners, saying they couldn't be happier and they were looking forward to raising their new baby boy. Drew commented on being a new parent:
"We're still catching up on sleep whenever we can, but every moment we spend with Parker is the best moment of our lives. We're tired, happy parents."
Drew and Linda named the baby boy Parker Scott, and they've been keeping their community updated on his growth over time. Drew posted a photo of the family on Instagram, saying, "Update: Parker is now 1/2 the size of Linda ❤️." They also shared images of Parker's animal-themed nursery, saying:
"We wanted to create a place filled with whimsy, adventure, and love, and the theme of nature kept coming to us. We want to instill in Parker the passion for the natural world that we have ... We wanted him to feel like a storybook had come to life in his room, with all of his animal friends watching over him."
They also renovated Drew, Jonathan, and brother JD Scott's old crib for the new baby. The couple shared that they wanted to show their son that they and all their family have been looking forward to meeting him. The two took to parenting well. Even though it is much more tiring than they realized, they wouldn't trade it for anything.
