Catherine Ritchson was with "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson during the peanut butter and jelly years, gracefully taking on the challenges of his fame that came later.

As a writer and producer, Alan Ritchson's wife, Catherine Ritchson, has worked with her Hollywood husband on numerous occasions. She kicked her reliance on alcohol, remaining sober since 2018.

In "Twilight," Bella Swan's father buys her a truck she describes as a vehicle completely unscathed on the scene of a horrific accident. The Ritchson family was privileged to be in just such a truck when they had an accident at the start of 2022.

Who Is Catherine Ritchson?

Catherine is the writer of the upcoming comedy "Employee 665" and executive produced "Tree House Time Machine," a 2017 short written, directed, and starring her husband. She received special thanks on a few episodes of "Spellagram," and Nickelodeon's "Wonder Pets!"

The writer has been sober since 2018; she shared a Q&A about her 'dry life' on Instagram Stories. She felt an "intuitive tug" to stop drinking for a few months, noticing how she woke up feeling "divinely inspired" the mornings after abstaining from liquor. She explained:

"It was noticing this difference that made me feel like I was cheating myself out of something wonderful."

Catherine and Alan Ritchson Have Been Married for 16 Years

Catherine and the "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" actor said their forever vows on May 12, 2006. In a beautiful but honest tribute to her on their 2021 anniversary, Alan stated that through the "precarious highs and the suffocating lows," they were still holding hands.

In his tribute the following year, the "Titans" actor revealed that he tried to surprise her by upgrading her mini-van to a Model X Tesla, but she demanded to have the mini-van returned. For her March 20 birthday in 2021, he said:

"She's at the center of everyone else's smile. She's the first to bend down to pick up the pieces when things shatter in someone's life. She's the steady strum of a gentle rhythm guitar when the rest of life is a little too off-beat…"

They Share 3 Kids, and All of Them Are Boys

Calem Ritchson, born in September 2012, was followed by a brother not long after. The writer shares the ups and downs of parenting on social media. In July 2020, she said, "Starting to get the hang of this boy mom gig," with photos of her shooting a bow and arrow.

Alan's scene partner on "Reacher," commented that he was glad no one was hurt.

The couple welcomed Amory Tristan Ritchson on December 6, 2015. They chose the name Amory which means "brave and powerful," to enable their thirdborn to "feel he could be as much of a leader as if he were the firstborn."

Alan Ritchson Once Said His Wife and Kids Got into an Accident

Catherine was driving with their three boys when a car at 45mph rear-ended the truck on January 20, 2022. Alan Ritchson shared photos from the scene a day later, giving GMC a shout-out for creating a solid vehicle to protect his family from the impact.

No passengers in either vehicle were hurt in the accident. He concluded the detailed post by saying, "Glad everyone walked away, and my thoughts are with the other passengers. But Good lord, the truck didn't budge."

Malcolm Goodwin, Alan's scene partner on "Reacher," commented that he was glad no one was hurt, and "Titans" cast mate Minka Kelly shared thoughtful emojis. Chris Daughtry said, "Glad no one was hurt, bro!" The singer's stepdaughter died in 2021.

The official GMC Insta account thanked the star for being part of the GMC family, "The safety of you and your loved ones is of utmost importance to us, Alan, and we are so very glad that your GMC truck protected everyone within."
