Katee Sackhoff's Husband Robin Gadsby Is a Writer and Producer
Katee Sackhoff's husband, Robin Gadsby, established two main priorities after marrying the actress. Although Sackhoff imagined their connection would only be a rebound after ending a tumultuous relationship, the two grew close, and their bond deepened.
Born in Portland, Oregon, in April 1980, Katee Sackhoff's acting career began in her adolescence. She was initially gunning to be a professional swimmer as she had excelled in the sport since she was young; however, a knee injury forced her to switch paths.
Sackhoff's first onscreen appearance was in the Lifetime movie, "Fifteen and Pregnant," alongside Kirsten Dunst. The film motivated her to seek her place in Hollywood as an actress, and after graduating from high school, she began landing parts in more movies and TV shows.

One of her best-known roles is her portrayal of Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the 2000s action-adventure series "Battlestar Galactica." Sackhoff appeared in several other high-profile shows, including "CSI" and "The Flash," while starring in films such as "White Noise: The Light" opposite Nathan Fillion.
She also appeared in "Riddick" with Vin Diesel and played Nikki Franklyn in "Sexy Evil Genius" alongside Anthony Michael Hall. However, despite her notable credits in the entertainment industry, Sackhoff's career hasn't been the only part of her life worth celebrating.
Not too long ago, she tied the knot with a man she thought to be the "most amazing" person she'd ever known. Her husband, writer Robin Gadsby, is also in the entertainment industry but prefers to work behind the scenes.

Katee Met Her Husband at Work
When she met Gadsby, they both worked on the adventure series "Another Life," but in different departments. Gadsby was an assistant producer on the Netflix original and had gotten the job through a friend who worked in the writing department.
During her appearance on Apple's "Inside of You," Sackhoff explained that, before then, Gadsby worked heavy hours in two different fields: he was a writer by day and a bar manager by nightfall. However, the routine was time-consuming and had become underwhelming for the Canadian native.
So, he sought his way back into the film industry to work regular hours and perhaps lead a "normal" life. It was through that pursuit that he met his wife, though she initially thought their relationship would only be of a "rebound" nature.
Less than a year before the two met, Sackhoff was left reeling from a relationship that had ended "terribly," and she struggled to move past it. In the months that led to her meeting with Gadsby, she said she couldn't even bring herself to fancy anyone. And yet, against those odds, Gadsby won the Hollywood star's heart, and the pair became best friends with a deepening bond.
Katee's Mom Noticed They Could Have a Good Relationship
Sackhoff repeatedly raved about Gadsby to her mom when they were still friends, telling her he was the "most amazing" person she'd ever met. She was convinced that he would make "some woman so happy one day" and, as if to ask, "Why wouldn't that woman be you?" her mom once replied:
"What is wrong with you?"
When it clicked, realizing her feelings were more than platonic, Sackhoff was reluctant to start a romantic relationship with Gadsby due to their ten-year age gap. But, her mom encouraged her to go for it, and several years later, Sackhoff was still mindblown that Gadsby was her partner, as she said:
"It still blows my mind. I wake up every morning and pinch myself that I’m lucky enough to be loved by this person. It just blows my mind."
Robin Revealed His Two Priorities in Life after Their Wedding
Gadsby and Sackhoff tied the knot in late 2021. Weeks after the special day, the actress penned a tribute to their wedding, sweetly telling her Instagram followers how, surrounded by her loved ones, she married a man that was "far too good" for her.
Sackhoff said she didn't know how she pulled it off but would live the rest of her life being the person Gadsby imagined her to be. Alongside a black-and-white photo of himself and his wife in their wedding attire, he also wrote:
"I now have two priorities in life: 1. Make sure she doesn’t get hit by cars. 2. Keep her laughing like this as much as humanly possible."
Then on January 2, 2022, Gadsby reflected on the previous year, saying the main highlights of 2021 were all moments spent with his family and friends, old and new. Alongside a thread of photos depicting those moments, he said:
"I wish I could have spent more time with my mom and dad, my brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, all my friends back in Canada. But I’m grateful for the brief times we did have. And I’m beyond grateful for my incredible, gorgeous wife with whom every year is a year well spent."
They Are a Family of 3 Now
Gadsby and Sackhoff welcomed a baby girl on December 6, 2021, naming her Ginevra Grace Gadsby. Sackhoff made the announcement a few weeks after her birth, and the little one has been growing gracefully.
Since becoming a mother, though, Sackhoff limited her social media presence to focus on her family. Still, now and then, she takes a moment to gush about Gadsby and their baby, referring to them as her "whole world," including two pups that sometimes appear on her timeline.
Last month, in an adorably hilarious post, Sackhoff revealed that little Ginevra already had a fashion sense, dressing with the style of a 95-year-old grandma. The toddler had picked a blue cardigan with chickens and chicks embroidery around the hem, a pink knitted dress, and dark grey leggings.
Katee Feels Lucky to Have Her Husband
In February 2022, Sackhoff posted a day-late birthday tribute to her husband, excusing herself because she was too busy "loving on him" on his actual birthday. Alongside a picture of Gadsby cradling their daughter in his arms, she wrote:
"Seriously though, how the Frak did I get so lucky!? He’s literally my better half [...]."
Sackhoff added that Gadsby was the reason she knew she did something right in her life to have deserved someone as "amazing" as he was. She joked and thanked him for making people think she was younger than she was, concluding the caption with the hashtag "#cougarforlife."
