Michelle Yeoh has broken a critical boundary that has confined Asian women in film for an awfully long time. Yeoh was prized for being the best leading actress at the weekend's 95th Academy Awards ceremony, which took place at the Dolby Theatre. This achievement will go down in history as the first for Asian actresses.

Prior to Yeoh's win, the only other female to have been nominated in the coveted category was Merle Oberon, who was selected in the 1936 edition of the significant awards event. Yeoh considers her recent win necessary as there are many performers, in and out of the Asian community, who have been unseen and unheard.

To celebrate this integral achievement with her fans, Yeoh took to Instagram to share a picture of herself with her partner, clinching tightly onto the golden Oscars trophy. The actress chose to let the image speak for her, as she did not include any words in the Instagram post's caption.

Based on her decision to publicly showcase her award shoulder-to-shoulder with her partner depicts that this win means a lot to both of them. With that said, let's look into the facts about Yeoh's partner and their relationship.

Michelle's Peirrefort, France-born partner, Jean Todt, was born in February 1946, making him roughly 17 years older than the 60-year-old actress. Todt acquired his education from the Ecole des Cadres School of Economics and Business in France's capital. He became a professional rally co-driver winning at Tour de France Automobile Rally.

Todt has also won titles at the Rally de Portugal and the World Rally Championship. Some of his team managerial roles that followed in the years after his title wins were director of Peugeot Talbot Sport, general manager of Scuderia Ferrari, and CEO of Ferrari for five years until 2009. Todt met Yeoh during his term at Ferrari.

They met in the so-called Paris of the East, Shanghai, on June 1, 2004, while Yeoh worked on the publicity team at a Ferrari event, and the pair became engaged the following year. Since then, they went on to own homes across Europe and Asia, and according to Todt, most of the day's in their years are spent traveling.

Before her Oscar celebratory Instagram post with Todt, the actress has barely published images with them together. Their second-most recent photo on her Instagram dates back to July 2022, when she posted a group picture of herself with Todt, designer Shiatzy Chen, and another individual named Steffanie Chua.

Although Yeoh and her partner have not tied the knot despite being together for almost two decades, it has been hinted that they could get married soon, Amy Nicholson reported. However, Yeoh has been married in the past.

In 1987, the actress exchanged vows with producer Dickson Poon. Shortly after their nuptials, Yeoh prematurely retired from acting, surprising many. Still, she returned to the film industry in 1992 when they divorced.

Michelle's performance in the impressively successful multi-dimensional film, "Everything Everywhere All at Once," has earned her lots of praise and accolades. The film's directors even went for a photo op, collaborating with Jennifer Coolidge for W Magazine. The film also features a great performance from fellow Asian actor Ke Huy Quan.

Global news publication, Insider, found that the headline-worthy point of Michelle's Oscar acceptance speech was her comments about ageism in Hollywood. The award was presented by "Scenes From a Marriage" star Jessica Chastain and Van Hunt's famous actress girlfriend, Halle Berry.

"And ladies, don't let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime. Never give up," Yeoh said about older actresses. After that, Yeoh thanked everyone who participated in producing the film before dedicating her award to the mothers of the world, including her 84-year-old mother.
