Ll Cool J's Grandson Turns 5 & Family Celebrates with a Space Themed Party

LL Cool J's grandson King James Cardinez is the firstborn of Italia Anita Maria Smith. He recently celebrated turning five with his friends, family, and famous grandfather.

LL Cool J recently celebrated his grandson, King James Cardinez's fifth birthday. King and his family were seen having a good time at the space-themed celebration, which LL Cool J's wife, Simone I. Smith, shared on Instagram. King's party was also attended by friends, who saw him blow the candles off his Spaceship cake.

The birthday boy is the first child of LL Cool J's daughter Italia Anita Maria Smith, and her husband, Lamar Cardinez. Italia also took to Instagram to share the landmark birthday celebration, where we see two pictures of King and a photo of all the pics and moments they enjoyed.

The birthday theme was in line with King's dreams. According to Simone's caption, King is a future Aerospace Engineer! She wrote, "Our future aerospace engineer is 5 years old today!!! Happy Blessed Birthday Kingy King King!!! I absolutely ADORE my grandson!"

Italia also shared a sweet caption in appreciation of her "baby boy." She wrote about their love for King on the family's behalf, saying, "My First born, My Baby Boy, My Son Mr.King-James is 5! Keep dreaming and keep believing..Your future is brighter than the sun. We love you to the moon, the stars and every galaxy."

Italia Maria is LL Cool J's eldest daughter with Simone. According to Italia's Instagram bio, she works in real estate, "Wife, Mommy, Kingdom Minded, Real Estate, Psalm 23," her bio reveals about her life. Italia has been married to Lamar since June 2017; they had a beautiful Vineyard wedding in Long Island.

Among the guests at her wedding were Stars Mary J. Blige and Niecy Nash, Closer Weekly reports. Italia was born in 1991, after her older brother Najee Laurent Todd Eugene Smith. They both keep their lives relatively private and away from the spotlight. Italia is focused on her career after having graduated from Northeastern University.

LL Cool J has accomplished many things in his lengthy career, crossing various mediums and art forms. Closer Weekly reports that the former rapper's most significant accomplishment is his shepherding of four children.

Along with his wife of nearly thirty years, LL Cool J welcomed Najee first, then Italia. Samaria Leah Wisdom Smith and Nina-Symone Smith followed the eldest two. Last year was a celebration of the "In Too Deep" star's 27th year in marriage, along with his youngest's 22nd birthday.

"I just try to lead by example, encourage them [and] make sure they can do anything they put their minds to. I've always been really trying to teach them to believe in themselves and not be limited," LL Cool J said about his children, who have opted for a life away from the spotlight.

LL Cool J Is Married to Simone for Almost 3 Decades

King's grandparents met in 1987 during their teenage years and were introduced to each other by Simone's cousin on Easter. LL Cool J and Simone hit it off and dated for eight years before tying the knot on August 8, 1995.

Simone once revealed on the Oprah Winfrey show that putting God first and the respect that she and her partner have for each other is the key to their lasting marriage. Simone is also a cancer survivor who had to relearn walking after undergoing surgery in 2004.

The couple went on to start a campaign called "Beat Cancer Like a Boss." Following her battle with Cancer, Simone entered the jewelry business, partnered up with Mary J. Blige, and was supported by musicians such as Cardi B, Beyonce, and Rihanna—all of whom have been influenced by their families.
