Nick Wright and Wife Danielle Wright Keep Details of Their Wedding Private
Nick Wright may be one of the most well-known and successful sports anchors, but he also has a thriving family life with his wife, Danielle Wright, and their three children. Although they've shared some details about their family, little is known about their romance.
Kansas native Nick Wright has been hailed as one of the greats in sports television. The acclaimed anchor studied Journalism at Syracuse University before kicking off his career. However, Nick wasn't yet a reporter when he made his first TV appearance.
He was a contestant on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and won $50,000, which he used to pay off his debts. He had a few stints in radio stations and news channels before landing his role as a "First Things First" co-host.
Besides his noteworthy achievements, though, Nick has led a fulfilling personal life alongside his partner. His wife was already a mom of two when they tied the knot, and much like "Doctor Who" actor David Tennant with his stepson Ty Tennant, he took her kids as his own.
Nick Wright's Wife Is Danielle Wright
Danielle's husband may be a well-known public figure, but she's been making big moves in her own field. She has an active social media presence, where she chronicles her life, adventures, and business endeavors.
In her Instagram bio, she describes herself in several ways, saying she is a "lover" and a "dreamer," a "foodie" and a "traveler," a "Libra" and a "lefty," a "friend" and a "boss," a "mother" and a "wife." Below these labels, Danielle linked two other IG pages that she runs.
The first is for her Harlem-based boutique, Trintage, and the second is her stylist account, freebyrdfresh, where Danielle showcases how she styles her clients using garments from her boutique.
Nick & Danielle Wright Seem to Prefer Privacy as Their Wedding Details Are Unknown
Although Nick and Danielle have never officially announced their engagement or wedding, they've made it obvious that they are a married couple on their socials. In 2017, Danielle posted a lovely portrait of herself and Nick on Twitter, captioning:
"Mr. and Mrs. Wright #truelove."
Three years later, Nick revealed that he had tattooed Danielle's name on his ring finger. His wife had done the same, as she revealed in an April 2018 Instagram post, though the names they both inked on the wedding fingers were "Nickypoo" (on Danielle) and "Danipoo" (on Nick).
Interestingly, Danielle's caption also included the date "4/13/2013," which is likely the day the lovebirds tied the knot. The following month, Danielle shared a throwback photo of herself and Nick, writing:
"The Beginning of the Wrights❤️ #10yearsstrong #tbt"
Therefore, if they married in April 2013, they likely started dating around 2008. The couple also shared a few details about their nuptials during their appearance on MJ Acosta-Ruiz's podcast, "Calling an Audible."
As they advised MJ and her then-fiancé on handling their wedding plans, Nick and Danielle revealed they had eloped. One of their tips on elopement was choosing guests wisely. Then from husband to husband-to-be, Nick advised MJ's fiancé to remain present and equally involved in the planning as his bride.
Nick and Danielle Share a Lot of Family Moments on Social Media
Whether Nick is praising his wife for her milestones or they're spending time with their children, those special moments are sure to make it to their socials. In August 2022, Nick congratulated Danielle when she received her props from fashion mogul Dapper Dan for her boutique.
In January of that year, Danielle posted a thread of family pictures after they enjoyed a night out for dinner. She sweetly captioned the post, saying she would "love, listen, and protect" her husband and kids for the rest of her life.
That June, Danielle wished Nick a happy Father's Day alongside another heartwarming family photo. Then in November, Nick and his daughters enjoyed watching the stage production, "Wicked." However, Danielle wasn't there to join them, as he revealed in his caption.
Nick and Danielle's Youngest Daughter Once Shared a Hilarious Story about Their Family on TV
It was in December 2019 when the adorable youngster, Deanna, told on her family for leaving her out of the previous year's New Year's Eve festivities. She explained that her bedtime had arrived before they began and complained:
"It's totally not fair the little one has to miss the celebration for New Year!"
When asked what her New Year's Resolution was, the little one said she wanted her older sister to be nicer to her before snitching that she always called her "stinky." Deanna candidly declared that she did not like that "AT ALL."
Nick Reportedly Adopted Danielle's 2 Children from a Previous Relationship
Nick only has one biological daughter, Deanna, whom he welcomed with Danielle. His stepdaughter is Diorra Byrd, and his stepson is Damonza Byrd. Diorra and Damonza were born in Danielle's previous relationship; however, apart from that detail, little is known about the two siblings.
Still, from their frequent appearances on Nick and Danielle's social pages, Diorra and Damonza seem to share a solid bond with their stepdad—much like Gwyneth Paltrow with her stepdaughter, Isabella Falchuk. And as they still bear their mother's maiden name, it's unknown if Nick legally adopted them.
The TV journalist has never publicly spoken on the matter, though some reports claim he became Diorra and Damonza's legal father. Still, it seems Nick is a family-oriented man, as his wife and kids are not the only people he has gushed about. He frequently celebrates his sister, Joanna, for her achievements in the legal sector.
