Joey Diaz's wife, Terrie Diaz, positively influenced his life and comedy career. She once worked as a hostess to make ends meet and met the entertainer because of her job. They have since lived in marital bliss with their daughter.
Terrie Diaz is famously known as Joey Diaz's second wife, and although she is associated with a public figure, her life is relatively private.
Because of the limited information about Terrie, fans of her husband have become curious to know more about her and their relationship.

Born in the mid-'80s in Nashville, Tennessee, Terrie's actual date of birth has yet to be discovered. Before marrying Joey, she used her maiden name, Catherine Murray.
Terrie Worked as a Hostess When She Was Young
In 2019, Terrie agreed to a guest interview on the "Wife of the Party" podcast with LeeAnn Kreischer to talk about her life behind closed doors. During the discussion, Terrie gave the public a glimpse into her life as a comedian's wife, a mom, and a woman.
Terrie was born and raised in Tennessee, her home for many years. She had been a basketball athlete since fifth grade and continued the sport until high school. She worked hard to become a great basketball player but, unfortunately, was put down by her coach.

Terrie recalled that her coach said she wouldn't amount to anything in the sport. Since then, she always thought she was never good enough. At one point, it got to her; Terrie had a nervous breakdown during her junior year in high school. She narrated:
"I blacked out. I was doing all of this mess, and I didn't remember all of it. Evidently, I kicked the school's secretary. I don't have any memory of it at all [sic]."
She eventually finished her education and worked. However, Tennessee was a place that was reluctant to change in the '80s while the entire world was opening up to new things. The south had few opportunities for women, and the few available jobs didn't pay well.
After college, Terrie moved to Memphis and worked for a club in the evening while she pursued a career as a financial analyst at a law firm during the day. At that time, her day job only paid $23,000 a year. Terrie had to rethink her career to make ends meet.

In 1995, she moved to Los Angeles to explore a different world and grow. She went on to become a hostess at a blues club and lived in North Hollywood to get things started.
Joey Once Said He and Terrie Both Needed Their Own Space in the Marriage
After being on her own, Terrie met and married Joey. Although they have differences, the couple makes their relationship work by giving each other space. He once said:
"I'm an only child. I hate when I walk in the house and [Terrie and my daughter] both attack."
The comedian has always been open about needing his personal space, and this is something that Terrie understands and agrees with. The couple worked with a schedule for the week where they could spend time alone, together, and as a family, and it has worked wonders for both of them.
Terrie Was Once on Joey's Podcast Talking about His First Marriage and Fully Supported Him
Joey and Terrie once appeared in a podcast to discuss the comedian's first marriage to an undisclosed woman. The entertainer revealed money became an issue after he and his first wife divorced, as she reportedly always went after his earnings.
Admittedly, he made many mistakes during their relationship, but Joey has since owned up to it. Despite his complicated past, Terrie fully supports her husband and is always there for him. In the podcast, Terrie explained why her husband finally lost his patience with his ex-wife. She said:
"There are people who like to sit around and poke bears and then get upset when the bear attacks."
As Joey disclosed, his ex-wife took his child to another man's home and had her parents lie about it. While he didn't add as many details, fans could already guess why his relationship went downhill.
Terrie Met Joey When He Was Homeless, and They Hid Their Relationship at First
Terrie met Joey in 2000 and started dating him within weeks. At that time, Joey was homeless and in a difficult situation. Soon, he spent more days in Terrie's home with only a duffel bag. She was initially surprised that the bag contained everything he owned but didn't care.
Because she was a waitress at the blues club he performed at, they kept their relationship a secret. One day, as she realized Joey's potential talent, she knew she was destined to help him become a star. Terrie recalled:
"I saw him and Bryan Holtzman take that original room and destroy it, and he has no written material at that time. Joey's just talking. He doesn't even know what he's about to say, and he just rips it apart."
They then formed a partnership that was more than just a romantic relationship. "It was mutually beneficial," Terrie said of their relationship initially. She wanted Joey to listen to her, understand her, and take her advice in different aspects of life.
The pair tied the knot in November 2009 during an intimate wedding ceremony. In 2013, they welcomed their first child, Mercy Saa Diaz, whose information isn't publicly known.
Terrie described her first year as a mother as challenging. She was always tired and barely slept while trying to make ends meet. It was more difficult with her husband on the road.
However, despite their hardships and different personalities, Terrie and Joey made their relationship work for the best.
Like Joey, Simon Pegg is another comedian whose wife has been nothing but a beautiful influence in his life. He has praised her several times in the past for keeping him grounded.
